For anyone thats seen the movie, "Naked Prey" or more recently "Surviving The Game" what knife would you like to have at your side should you be confronted with a situation in which you will be asked to survive but also fight back should the chance arise?

Survive as in traps, food, shelter and fight back as in stab, kill and mame.

Sorry about the language in the topic header, some things can be said no other way!!!

Hunting?
Don't be a wise guy!
What d'ya hunt with a knife?
Name it!

I'd want something big. Like my parang, made by Ross Aki. Although a khuhuri would be my second choice.

Maybe a Busse Basic 9"? Or some large, high-quality bowie, a Hossom with modified edge (not so acute, better suited to hardcore woodcuttin/chopping). AND a DMT Diafold...

I would opt for something from United Cutlery. They are wicked cool looking and made with good steel to do the job.

One of my Khukris by all means. What a utility and battle knife combo! Nothing on this planet comes close!

if the **** hits the fan, i'd want a pretty wide spatula type blade to scrape the dam stuff off!

Either my Cold Steel Stainless Trailmaster, or my Gerber "BMF"...Whichever one was the closest "at the time".

I'd feel better prepared(having no knife fighting experience) with a good solid straight blade with a blade around 7". Maybe a Trailmaster or a Gerber BMF or something along those lines.

Hell, if the **** ever really hit the fan and started blowing around I'd be better off with a Para-Ordinance .45 with a 14 round clip...+1. Or maybe a .50 Desert Eagle with a night vision scope.

You could put nacho cheese sauce on it...

Stompy,

The Trailmaster has a 9&1/2 inch LONG blade, and OVER 1/4 inch THICK.
The Gerber "BMF" has a 9 inch long blade, and at 1/4 inch THICK).

HI B.A.S., BM Nimravus, Lrg Sebenza, LM Wave.

IF it went down this minute I'd have a Sifu, Endura (plainedge), LM Wave and Micra. Oh yeah, I'd also have the Sig 226 w/ spare mags, 26" ASP, OC pepper spray, body armor and most important..... a prep radio and a cell phone to call lots of help

Hope it never happens to anyone though.
May you be blessed with peace,
Chad

I would have to go with my big John Fitch bowie. Its big, its bad, but its not too heavy. Blade is 10" of clay hardened 5160, nickel silver double guard and green linen micarta handle. Last year, at the Blade show, my wife bought this knife for my 40th birthday(bless her heart). I took it around the show like a kid with a new toy. I showed it to Laci Szabo, who is a big martial artist. He loved the knife and was waving it all over the place. The knife has to be seen and held to believe the balance! I am not computer literate enough to post a picture here, but anyone who wants to see this knife can email me at home, and I will send a pic that way. This knife can chop, slice, and the back edge is even sharp back about 3". The Kenny Rowe pinlock sheath dont hurt either.

I've used my Randall model 1 for the last 15 years in just about every imaginable climate or condition, and it has performed flawlessly.
