If you could have one mid length (7-8 inches in blade) "survival knife" that could still chop (~1/4" thick) and could cut a lawn mower in half and keep going which one would you have to choose? What if you only had $225 dollars to spend on it and that's with shipping. Well, what is it?

Good luck,

You were describing the Busse TGLB until the price limit came into play...

  • Survive GSO-7/7
  • Bark River Bravo 2

Can't help. Somehow I've survived 70 years without owning a 7 - 8 inch blade "survival" knife. Or ever needing to cut a lawn mower in half with a blade. If pressured, I suppose I would look for an old Buck General, but that's me.

Tops Apache Falcon. Cheeseball name, but one sexy beast of a knife! $150 from the jungle website or KW.

In all seriousness, the BK7 is great--I stripped the coating, got Ipe scales for Tommythewho, and a kydex sheath from Azwelke... I take every opportunity to use that thing--from dealing with a whole chicken in the kitchen to having adventures on the hiking trail, it has handled all that it has been put to...
