would you carry with you on a daily basis.

scenario is assuming major S**T happens and we run out of power.. nothing works anymore, you have finished utilising whatever is left of your ammo and guns.

its back to caveman days, good old hand to hand, running around hunting for food (you just finished your last can of campbell soup) and defending yourself from wild animals.

What knives would you carry with you on a daily basis?? No limit as long as you think its feasible for you to be carrying that many and still be totally mobile and agile..

play along...:D

I guess I'd try to find out how to make a spear and bow :)

Back to caveman days you say? Well anything from Mr. Geno Denning at Caveman Engineering would be just fine. :D

Knives, schmives...I want one of these...

I bet in cave man times going Clubbing has a totally different meaning.
:D But with the same intended outcome, just a different means :p

As for the knives I'd take... hmmm... a hatchet with an OAL about 15"; a fixed blade knife with an 8", carbon steel blade and Micarta handle; a fixed blade with a thin, flat-ground, 3.75"-4" blade, a Leatherman Supertool 200, and a sharpener. I'd rig a torso-carry system for either the hatchet or the larger fixed blade. I'll dig around and try to find examples of my ideas.

Well, whenever I heft my SRKW Battle Rat, I get the feeling that in a pinch it could be a decent do all knife or emergency knife. I assume that is what you mean by "Cave man days". A time where you need some rough and tumble and reliable tools that can do various tasks.

The Battle Rat and knives similar to it are as close as I can imagine to a single knife for all tasks. It can be used to chop wood, slash brush, make shelter, defense against man or beast, as a camp knife, as a food prep knife, as a hunting knife, as a work/utility knife. It can do all of these tasks with some level or skill. It is not great at any of them but it can do all of them. That is the sort of thing you would look for.

In a folder, I guess I would carry a Spyderco Military. It is just such a handy little big knife.

I'd like an atlatl with ammo or crossbow; unless of course I can have a rifle/shotgun with slings and ammo-then I'd take both and forget the first two; a CASE 54 trapper, one of my Jerry Fisk or Coast bowie and possibly a Case x-changer with saw blade.
A metal frog/fish spear is also handy since you can also spear small mammals with it although things like 'chucks can be a wrestling match..not that I would know but read a book once.

Raquel Welch is 67, now. You sure you still want her?
You bet, she still looks great. I first saw her in Nam in 1968 doing a show for the troops....just one of many she did for us...GREAT LADY......

Too skinny for caveman woman. Need a rugged babe who'll help fight and hunt.
You' be doin' all the fightin' as soon as the other cave dudes saw her.....

A womans place is in the kitchen, they are the gatherers, cooks, and baby makers, hunting is for men.
If we still had this in place ....... the divorce snakes (lawyers) would be broke.
Our job is to hunt and kill it ...... their job is to skin and cook it .... plus one other thing...

She looks better at 67 (as does Stephanie Powers), than ANY of the current 20 somethings, in my opinion. YMMV.

Good to go. Just checking to make sure you knew what you'd be getting.
