If you could only get one knife for your Christmas wish , what would it be ?

Here are the rules: Must be sub $200.00 U.S.D ( even Santa is on
budged this year.);)

The knife that you pick got to be from the NET, Catalog, Magazines

words of mouth, ete.. ( but must NOT been handle before , not from your local Gun & Knife store , from your friends,ete...)

Discribed the knife , Why do you pick that ?

My: Spyderco Massad Ayoob C60P ( $165.U.S.D less )
LenghBlade: 3 5/8
EDge Type: Plainedge or Spydy edge ( Plainedge for me )
Length Close: 5 1/16
Blade Steel: VG-10
Handle : Aluminum w/ Black Almite

Conclusion: I have used a couple of Spydy , good stuff! especially
the Spydy Hole , I like it better than thumb stud. This knife is for
Right/Left handed , can change the clip on either side which I am a left handed. Their Customer Service are very helpful. What else can I
say? :)

WHAT:
Emerson Commander BT (black, plain edge)

WHEN:
This weekend

WHY:
Quasi-drop point
Recurved blade w/ large belly
Opening mechanism
Liner lock
Identical training knife available
Manufacturer's reputation
Tired Endura (EDC) needs replacing

Heey, too low cash limit...

But i'll bite...
Emerson mini-commander or Emerson I&I Tanto... :)

Forgot why!! just 'cuz i love tantos and i love waved knives, too bad the I&I isn't waved, please see signature :)

Fortuitously I ordered this evening my christmas knife (by now because of a delivery time of 30 days), the Camillus CUDA CQB model.
Why? Because I want a lightweight fixed blade for self defense purposes with a good carry system.

Well, I'd like to get a EKI Waved folder (don't care what model, year, plain edge is good) cuz I just like the Wave. Hopefully by the end of next year I can.

But for Christmas, the Spyderco Mouse ala Bladeart.com.
1.875” blade VG-10 steel with Spyderhole. Anodized aluminum handle slabs, ambidextrous pocket clip. Overall length: 4.937 ” Weight 2.4 oz. Price: $77.97

I like the VG10 and the non threatening appearance.

Chris Reeve Knives Shadow III or Mountaineer I - $185

I want it because it is one of the finest knife designs (as in industrial design) I have ever seen (and handled, briefly). The best execution of the hollow-handle survivial knife concept hands down.

The 4 inch models are small enough to carry easily, and they weigh less than one of my other favorite outdoors knives, the Spyderco Chinook.

I would want a Camillus Cuda CQB, but with an 8-9 inch blade.:).

BTW...Horus, if you haven't yet had a chance to handle a CQB, you will be in for a very nice suprise. I have 2 of the CQB-1 knives, (and a CQB-2 on the way from a trade), and these are awesome knives, with an excellent blade-shape, and perfect balance!

Benchmade Stryker, I think they are about $140 with M2 steel.
I think I am getting either a CRKT KFF or an Outdoor Edge Magna at X-mas, so I want to get a cool tanto to go with it. I like Allen Elishewitz's designs and the length of the Stryker. PLAIN EDGE of course! :)

I had a couple of knives on order before 9-11-01 that now have been put on hold. One from Kit Carson and two from Max Burnett, both who understand why I cancelled. But there's no more knives for me this year. Still, I got to go to Blade Show this year and it's been a great year for my collection.

May Santa be as kind to all of you.

just give me a Becker Brute and/or a 18" AK kuri and I send half of my paycheck to you for 2 months, no questions asked!!

I have already been in contact with the old bearded bloke, who drives the reindeer powered road train.
He is bringing me a NIB William Henry Pearl Lancet. Came in at One dollar under 200, it did. What a bargain, Mate.

Why?
I chose it because of the quality as well as the blade length and shape.
All I want now is a mini Griptillian, plain edge – no black paint, mate.

As long as I did not have to pay for it :D something by Hugh Bartrug or Wolfgang Lorchner.

Dumb Bastid he said under 200 bucks.:)

I would go for a Dozier or a plain Jane forged knife.
The Dozier - I own one and it cuts plain and simple.
Plain Jain - I heard a rumor at Blade about a guy who was putting together a collection or an article on forged knives by A.B.S. master and Journeyman Smiths for around that price range (250 or below) and he had a decent stack of cards of folks willing to make one. Nothing fancy mind you. As an example, Ed Caffry makes a heck of a nice user in the range of 120.00. There are many more.

For knives I haven't handled, I would probably pick a Schrade DH2 D'alton Holder. I don't know why, it just looks nice. The blade isn't clunky looking, and the handle looks to be comfortably shaped. It's a limited edition, so not many people are going to have one, and it looks useful, too. The Buck Big Sky is more in my price range, and is what I will likely get, however. Or a maybe a Grohmann. Or a Camillus EDC.

I'm likin' the Kathleen Tomey Mini Tac neck Knife in the Jan, 2002 issue of Blade,,about $150.00:)

I want a Case Mother of Pearl Russlock because I couldn't find one until this months catalog from Smokey Mountain and $43.00 worth of candy canes.( You did put a $200.00 limit on this)tom.:D
