What would you choose for your next knife, if cost was not an issue ? 1 Fixed and 1 Folder only please.

Me:
1/. FIXED: The Hossom blades in the other thread look cool.

2/. FOLDER: Toss up between Elishewitz Diablo/Ken Onion Boa.

JD

Fixed blade: Bagwell damascus bowie, stag handle (of course)

Folder: Dozier's big new one (forgot the name!)

Fixed: Something from Tom Mayo in Talonite.

Folding: Nicely decorated scale release DA from Centercross Knives.

First of all I would send Jerry Hossom's kid through college so he can spend his time making me a millenium balisong =)

secondly I would hire my own personal tac swat team to assault a certain friend's house in portland oregon

Thirdly I would find some way to make Pat Crawford stop making KFFs so he can make me another custom made crawford balisong..

can we see a trend here..

This is hard since there's so many very very good choices out there. I don't suppose I could say "1...from each maker out there!" Okay fine...

Fixxed: Neil Blackwood, they're all great looking, and he's a very friendly guy.

Folder: Tom Mayo, All Ti and Talonite framelock folder. Sweet knife. Plus, he's one of the few makers I've actually met! Very nice guy.

Well, it's been covered but

Fixed: Mad Dog Saxon Sword, just so I can do a review and prove it exits.

Folder: Kasper Folding Fighter, currently the best folding knife for fighting.

Fixed-Bob Loveless Drop Point Hunter with stag handle.

Folder-JW Smith Model 1 folder with stag handles like the one that was stolen from my house.

This is way too easy

Fixed blade - A REAL Katana Circa 1600, in excellent shape - this is a fantasy right?? -you can't even take a katana in excellent shape out of Japan - it's illegal!

Folder - too many to name.

But an automatic sere hand made and signed by the late Mr. Al Mar himself...

folder: Bob Lum large Chinese folder ti-scales.
fixed: Bob Terzuola a customised version of the M-18 combat master.

There are only two types of people; those who understand this, and those who think they do.

Any 2 knives and price no object? No question. A Loveless and a Moran, and if Loveless would be the folder that would be fine.
Closer to reality, [but not according to my bank] a mosaic damascus folder from Steve Schwartzer [ very beautiful] or a Walker; and a Moran fixed blade.

Any knife? You did say any knife. Jim Bowie's real knife, of course no one knows what the hell that really was, but hay that's how I want to play.

Fixed Blade: I am not a big fixed blade fan (YET

) But if I was to pick one, it would be a Chris Reeve model.

Folder: Emerson CQC-7, or CQC-6 with pearl handles and damascus blade.

My list is endless, but if I had to narrow it down to two it would be;

Fixed blade- Something by Ed Fowler, a "Pronghorn" would be great, a Bowie would be better, in Damascus would be PERFECT!

Folder- Something by Ray Appleton, the "Jason" on Dave Ellis's site would do just fine, with a Paul lock, oh yeah.

I'm looking forward to Outdoor Edge releasing the "Cosmos" their collaboration with Appleton. Realisticaly it's as close as I'll ever get to owning anything with Appleton's name on it.

I don't think any manufacturer is going to be able to produce an Ed Fowler piece, and that's why I love his work. Each piece is one of a kind, and so is Ed.

Hmmm...Price no object, eehh?

Folder: A lg. Sebenza Classic (just to see if it's "All That")

Fixed: An Ed Fowler Bowie (When the chips are down...)

That's this week, of course. Ask me next week and who knows?

Well, as far as the fixed blade, NONE, don't care for them. I like folders. Knives that can be carried in the pocket are what I like, use, and collect.

As far as a tactical one handed folder goes, a Mission MPF with a BG-42 50/50 edge tanto blade and that beefy titanium handle! Too bad this one doesn't exist!

A pocket knife, my favorite would have to be the three blade Eye Brand 425Y Lg. Stockman.

It would have to be Ed Caffrey's Journeyman Smith Knife of the year.

I'll pass on the folder; I already have one.
