4.SPYDERCO CALY III ZDP 189 MODEL C113CFPE CARBON FIBER
The Caly III is a UK Pen Knife with a lock. Founded on the philosophy that the most comfortable, useable pocketknife is one that feels like a natural extension of your hand. Leaf-shaped plain-edged blade is thicker at the spine tapering thin to the edge. Ambidextrous WIRE Clip-It, spine and choil jimping. Flat-ground ZDP/420J2 laminated blade. Overall length is 7 inches, and the Caly III weighs 3.0 ounces. This CF is hard and smooth.

I'm really "itching" to buy a new knife.I seen some pretty good deals on these four. They all look so darn good.I can only get one though(well, maybe 2)Does anyone own any of these? What do you think of them?BTW GREAT FORUM!!
Sorry I haven't figured out how to add pics yet:eek::barf:

EASY choice.....................Benchmade 610 Rukus w/black blade. Goy one (non serrated) in my pocket as I type. Even got the silver G-10 replacement grips on it. Like I said, EASY choice!! If you can get two, add in that Spyderco Caly 3. I don't own a single Spyderco, but have read only positives about the Caly 3.

Thanks.Any thoughts on the Dejavoo? It's almost as big as the Rukus & about $50 less. Also,I've never owned an AL MAR.They seem overpriced, considering the mediocre materials & craftmanship. What do you think about AL Mar?

Caly 3 ZDP. A cutting, slicing demon. If you want a 3.5" bladed version flat ground pure ZDP then the brand new Stretch 2 is it. Oh man, what a knife!. Joe

:thumbup:Yea gotta love that carbon fiber handle in the caly!

I have both a large and a small Rukus. Large on right, small on left. That pair is one of my rotational pairs that I carry daily. So I would say the Rukus, it is a real smooth opener.
Currently I am carrying the Kershaw Junk Yard Dog I left hand and the Kershaw Junk Yard Dog II TI/SG2 right hand.
But the pair of Rukus will find my pockets again real soon. They are nice blades.

I'd pick the Caly of the four you've got there. I think the Caly is the highest quality of them all.

:DI decided to go with #3 BENCHMADE DEJAVOO.Seemed the best deal for the price. Thanks for the feedback guys

I would go with the ZDP Caly 3 or the Rukus (I prefer to avoid linerlocks).

I have the Caly and it is overall one of the best designs in it's class, it does just about everything right. if you don't have anything else like it, and even if you do, you owe it to yourself to try one.
If you have the opportunity, and there is a lack of large knives in your collection, the Rukus won't disappoint. I don't have one, but I've been itching to pick one up for a while.
It's a Benchmade so you know it will be top notch all around.

The Dejavoo is a real slicer with the flat ground blade, but it is awfully light in weight for its size. I would not use it as a HD knife at all. Btw, the Al Mar SERE 2000 is a very well crafted knife with excellent fit and finish.

Like I said,I got the Dejavoo & also picked up a SOG Carbon Fiber Jet Edge 2.I like liner locks, but do prefer arc-locks more.I love SOG knives.I'd say my favorite folder is The Vulcan VG-10.The action is so smooth.I'm hearing alot of good things about the CalyIII & the Rukus. They'll be next on the list.Would like to also check out the AL MAR Sere 2000.I have 2 Spyderco Natives, both
S30V,one coated & serrated, the other uncoated & plain edged. Is the CalyIII anything like the Native, cause that's a nice little knife? Thanks for the feedback:)

About the Benchmade Rukus??I had a BM Skirmish 630.It was way too bulky for me.I sold it right away.Picked up a Mini Skirmish 635(love it)I noticed the BM Rukus has about the same size blade.Does it feel bulky holding it in your hand or pocket like the Skirmish did to me.

I got it on ebay for $114.There aren't anymore I know of.I get about 80% of my knives off ebay. They have some really rare pieces at good prices.Just always make sure to check the seller's feedback!I got burned a couple times.

If I had the choice I'd be like a blind dog in a meathouse! Pick me the Axis lock Rukus.....great stuff. I do like Bob Lum's patterns however, alot!
