...which three would you choose and why?

1. BM Osbourne 941
2. BM Mini Rukus
3. Microtech Socom Elite
4. Al Mar Mini SERE
5. Al Mar Nomad
6. Spyderco Dragonfly
7. Syderco Caly 3
8. Emerson CQC-10

Out of the ones listed, I have only owned the Dragonfly. I owned a large Rukus, and it just wasn't for me. The Dragonfly is small, but is perfect for sheeple areas EDC carry. Mine was called "cute" by many.

BM 941. I own the 940. Awsome knife with super smooth action and superb fit and finish. It is a really sleek and slender and really rides well in the pocket. It also has the axis lock which is great. They are currently making them in s30v too which is really nice. Overall, one of my favorite knives. (I only like my 710 more since i have large hands so it fits me a little better.

Spyderco Cally 3- great knife. Rides low in the pocket. Great feel in the hand. Very nice slicer blade. I have the vg10-g10 model. Overall, cant go wrong with this baby. Only reason i dont edc mine is because it has a bit of vertical blade play so im likely going to sell it. Always seem to have this problem with spyderco (main reason i switched to bm--i was a hard core spyder fan until i kept getting blade play knives. Nothing really wrong with it i guess but i cant stand it hehe).

Rest I cant really say since i havent owned them or had any real interest in them.

Caly 3, Socom Elite ( S90V model), Dragonfly I do own these knives. The Caly 3 comes in VG10, or ZDP189 laminate with 420J, The Socom is in D2 but they make a S90V model which is worth the extra $40. I love mine. These are very good knives. I've got no blade play in any of my Spyderco knives except a 15 year old police that's seen it's better days. It is minimal and in no way unsafe. Joe

Of those eight, the two I *HAVE* chosen, and bought, are the BM 941 and the Mini-Rukus. They both fit my hand, have axis locks, and are tip up, all of which are big deciders for me. The 941 is a great slacks knife, lightweight but up to the job. The 615 is a tougher than nails tank, which still isn't huge.

I don't tend to buy liner locks much anymore, which cuts out a lot of your list.

Mini SERE
Caly 3
CQC-10

Though I have a list as long as my arm of knives I'd place before all three...
