If you could only have one

I`ve always carried fixed blades and have never owned a quality folder. So, I`ve been thinking maybe now is the time. Benchmade seems to be a good place to start, I`m considering the APO II. So my question to all...if you could only have one Benchmade folder, what would it be and why?

Your asking the impossible you know.
I suppose it would be my older AFCK 812SBT. Current model would be the classic 710.

Probably the 710 would do. But we post this question from time to time and to just pick one isn't easy.

Easy one for me: 730 Ares. It's one of the most beautiful knives I've ever seen. I'll probably never own one because it's been discontinued, but one can always hope!

I understand that picking one isn`t easy. I just think of the one blade I couldn`t do without, and then think how bad it would suck to do without the others.

If I could only have one it would be the AFCK.

Since the AFCK is discontinued, my favorite currently in production model is the 810 Contego.

My 940-1. Beautiful carbon fiber with blue stand offs, flow thru design, lightweight, carries so easily and top notch steel.

710 Hands down... Classic Axis Lock, lots of useful blade length, light (thin) and easy to carry, great blade steel & materials. This might very well be the best designed utilitarian folding knife of our generation. As long as BM is in business you have a knife to use and they'll take care of it for a lifetime.

That would be a hard choice but it would come down to one of the above. I have a 710 in D2 so that would be in the decision also but I think I would have to go with the 810. Really like the 710 but the Contego is just so much more knife that I would have to go with it. Hope I never have to make that choice.
frank.
