Don't hold your breath. I sent CRK an email yesterday asking if they'd started selling the Insingo direct, because I'd like to order one with an inlay. This is the response I got..

Thank you for your email. Selling the Insingo to the public is a new item for us. We are not yet equipped to enter the variety of combinations on the knife you requested. At this time I am not sure how we will offer it. That being said, I can take your order if you provide me with the information requested in the attached order form, but I don’t know when we will (if we do) offer it. Let me know how you want to proceed.

To say I'm a little disappointed would be an understatement.:grumpy: I guess I don't understand how you can order a regular Sebenza any way you want it, but they can't put inlay scales on an Insingo. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but is the Insingo not just a regular Sebenza with a different grind? From the edge back, the blade should be identical to a regular Sebenza. Why in the world would that affect their ability to slap some micarta inlay scales on one? I don't get it.

I think that may be a polite way of saying Chris hasn't decided if he wants to offer inlaid versions of the Insingo yet. From what I've heard, Chris isn't keen on the idea of offering an inlaid Umnumzaan anytime soon either. Maybe he only wants to offer inlaid Sebenzas and thats it.

Also, there's a slim chance of this, but maybe KnifeArt are attempting to resecure exclusivity on the Insingo. I imagine that losing exclusivity on such a popular knife would hurt their profit margins given that they wouldn't be the only place to buy one.

I guess we'll just have to wait it out!

But the Insingo is a Sebenza. It just has a different blade grind. It's still called a Sebenza. The Umnumzaan is a completely different knife, and would require a lot of work to design an inlay that flowed with the knife. I guess I'm going to reconsider doing what I was thinking about doing in early December, and that is order both an Insingo and a 21 with inlay, and just swap the handles. Plain Sebenzas just really don't do anything for me.

I am disappointed to say the least. I was really looking forward to an inlayed Insingo.
I am unsure why they say there not set up for it. As you already stared it the same exact scale as the 21 as far as I know.
Dang know I wish I bought Historicalman's small Insingo earlier.
