For a c95 manix sprint... how would you do it?
I would do a ti\g10(or cf). Framelock. With either s90v, m4 or 3v.

Framelock? Ewww. The defining feature of the Manix, to me, was that big old back lock.

I'd love a C101, G10, S90V. Don't bother with CF or anything else fancy.

I'm tired of frame locks on everything. I would own a lot more high end knives if they weren't all frame locks. There are such better lock designs available to settle for a frame lock. I would like to see a BB lock or compression lock and some G10 and a higher end steel like S90V or M4 or M390. I even really like the Sleipner steel Lionsteel put in the SR-1. It doesn't look that great on paper but it holds a razor edge probably longer than anything else I have tried. I like carbon fiber too but would want the basket weave like on the Gayle Bradley. Not a big fan of peel ply CF because if it doesn't look good I don't see the point. It saves hardly any weight over G10 and chips easier.

So you'd like to have an entirely new knife design requiring new engineering, prototyping, testing, refining, more prototyping, more testing, and all new tooling for a Sprint Run? How many pieces, 600? To break even, they'd have to retail for over $1000 each, how many are you in for? Don't count on me to buy any, I hate framelocks.

CTS-20CP, dark green (like Lil T) G10, everything else the same.

Wow who pissed in your cornflakes this morning? Lol if you don't have anything nice to say.....

I'd love to get an original (large) manix with bright orange scales. The scales would be the only thing I'd change about it in a sprint run, though - I'm fine with the steel and the lock. Come to think of it, it would be kinda nifty to put ludicrous amounts of jimping on it, like the manix 2 has...

I would like to see an original sized Manix w/ S30v (or A2, or D2, or cpm3v - not S90v, I can't stand sharpening that steel) a nice jimping but with a nested comp-lock; Lil' Temp colored G-10 scales.

I don't think he is being mean, just realistic. It might as well be a completely new knife if all those changes are made because it will require that amount of work to modify it. All he is trying to say is that if you really want to see a sprint run of that knife that it would be better to ask for only a change in scale and blade material.

I guess it doesn't hurt to dream but don't expect it to happen either.

Framelock Manix? No thanks, I love RIL's, but not on a Manix.

My perfect Manix sprint would probably be Peel-ply CF or Canvas Micarta like on the Temp 2, and S90V, or 20CP

PS-To clarify, I would want that with the original C95 Manix design..with the uber strong back-lock.

BTW, for those of you drooling over the idea of a C95 re-release, apparently there is a new concept model of a Large Manix 2 the recently appeared. I am assuming it uses the BBL like the C101 Manix 2. I hope they kept most everything else about it the same.

That would be sick to have a bunch of premium sprints like they did for the C101 Manix 2, but for the C95--Peel Ply CF/S90V, FG G-10/XHP, etc.

I'd love to see a C95 sprint happen. Yet the Manix's main attraction for me is that it's great lock back, no other lock could ever do this design justice. And while were talikng sprint options, I'd like to see brown Micarta ( Temperance 2) with a CTS-XHP or CPM 3V blade.

Well said bodankers, I'm liking the Big Ol' Manix a lot.

I also don't think the Manix would be justified using anything besides the BackLock.

The Manix2 can use a BBL, Bolt action or similar one hand closing locks though!
