If you had one of the less common Busse's such as;
EU-17
BARF
Cali-BARF
Tali-Wacker
10 and 20 year Anniversary knives
anything Flying
PT-5
Pepper Shaker
American Kensi
the un-named Folder ;) et-al
Would you use them? What about the Limited Edition/only for now special presentation blades? Would be hard for me to put one of these to chore!
 
Yup. I have a special Pepper Shaker that fits in my carry rotation every now and then. If I had an AK and had need of a bushwhacker, I would employ it. If I had one of the axes that is floating around here. I would use it too.
 
As I don't duplicate my Busse knives, and I don't plan on selling any of them, yes I use all of them. I actually only have a couple that are plain, standard from the shop. All the rest are fairly unique and would be a pain to replace.

My reasons for my choices involve cost and investment value BUT I would only own a knife like, say, a tali-wacker or PT-5 ---IF--- I found it more useful than current offerings. I know the PT-5 was offered at a price lower than some of the smaller Busses, so YES!! I'd use it.
 
for me it would be a BARF. It intrigues me that they were mission specific.

I don't buy a knife unless I'm prepared to use it, so I'd use any of the knives mentioned—if I managed to get one.

My Magnum EU-17 gets used every week: either for food prep, or when I go bush walking.

Everything that I own gets a turn sooner or later. ;):D

As I have never sold a knife I can’t see why they need to stay in pristine condition.

I don't plan to use anything that is numbered or rare but that still leaves a few to take the luvin' they so dearly need. I got a sheath for my Urban Camo PD but I can't seem to put that first kydex scratch on the Jungle Green one (currently only 20 exist). Maybe I'll be able to pick up a CG Mr. Mofo to abuse but the LE's won't see any action. The TW begs to be beaten but I've never heard of anyone using one.
 
Very interesting!! I did buy a nice satin/green mircata Active Duty from the Combat Shop to use as an EDC, and purchased a kydex sheath and two leather sheaths for every carry option. Can't wait to use/carry the Folder though...maybe?
 
I've got several one of a kinds that I use and a few prototypes that have received some serious abuse.

However, I've got others that I don't currently use, but if I needed to I'd have no problems doing so.

Depends on how big a jam my a$$ was in. Then again, it'd be great to do cinder-block demos at BLADE with an Argonne, just to see the look on a few hogs faces. :eek: (now all I need is an Argonne. Anybody got a spare lying around, a few sheath-scratches OK) :D

Fun my but, they are costly and noisy and .......can´t live without them!! :) ;)

As for not using gems, I just gotten hold of a SJ LE without serial nr. and really don´t know if I can harm it...was going to but... :( Maybe I should just trade it of for some New Line blade/s.

I use my Magnum EU17. I would use all the others you mentioned, except for the flying stuff. Good for if you have to cut someone up, but for everyday, I dont think it would be practical.
 
As much as I'd love to dedicate a floor of my house to the world's largest Busse collection, I'm much too broke to justify not using my knives. As such, I don't have to worry about acquirinng anything remarkably rare. I've used the three uncommon Busses I've had- two DABA's (one sold) and a coated ZTSH (also sold). I've been very, very tempted to attempt a "theme" collection (all Badgers, say), but I know if I have a bunch of rare, pristine, expensive knives laying about the next time an unexpected bill pops up, well... I'd rather not subject myself to that pain. :rolleyes: :D :D

Having fewer knives (and I'm certainly not suffering from a dearth of bladeware!) makes me appreciate the ones I have.
