If you had to do one upgrade to your AR?

I am buying a S&W M&P 15 MOE at some point and want to know if you had to do one internal upgrade like trigger, barrel, or bolt and such but keep it the same system (DI). So yeah what would be the one upgrade from a standard off the shelf AR like the one mentioned above.

so a larue stealth 20" upper is not an option you are looking for huh?:p

if we are also excluding optics then i would say trigger.

before you do that tho, do you have optics, PMAGs, sling, etc?

I installed one of the two-stage Chip McCormick trigger assemblies. It's a quick drop-in setup and that appealed to me more than some of the complicated trigger installations. It feels similar to the two-stage trigger on my upgraded M1A. I'm happy with it.

Shoot it FIRST... a lot, however in my limited experience most factory AR's can benefit from an after market trigger sooner or later..depends on your requirement.

I'm just an old trigger puller that specializes in punching paper and colony varmints so I enjoy a clean breaking 2-stage trigger..have Rock River National Match in two(2) of my rifles however there a lot of great trigger options.

Enjoy it!

I do not plan on upgrading it except for optics in the form of an Aimpoint ML2. But I just wanted to see what you guys would do if given the choice of putting one part in an off the shelf AR.

The upgrades I did and am very happy with are, in order of importance to me- Eotech, RR 2-stage trigger and Hogue grip. I would recommend any/all of them.

Upgrade trigger and have fun, looks like it already has most of the add-ons on it.
+1 on the Eotech.

-1 on the EoTech and +1 on a Aimpoint :D

I'm a aimpoint guy so I had to do it.

First thing I did was add a drop in Timney Trigger

From there it was a slippery slope with a ST-T2 Buffer , Neverquit Grip, MIAD kit, CTR stock, rail covers, a good sling...

Its a sickness, I ended up buying so many parts that when I put them together I had another M4orgery!

Best thing I say is actually go out and shoot it first and then get a optic for it if you desire. Just be warned if you get a upgrade your going to end up getting a ton more.

Oh and for laughs...

I built one for my daughter too, it's the one all the way to the right.
