First-time post, long-time reader...

If you had to sell one, which would you part with:

a) FBMLE

b) CGNMFBM

I'd like to keep (and eventually use) them both, but I gotta make some budget cuts, business is kind of slow these days...

Thanks for any feedback!

My vote would be for the LE. I'm not fond of LEs and it would typically bring more $ than CGs. I'm not sure if that rings as true in comparison to a NM though.

Thats a tough one it just depends on your use. But i think i'd keep the NMFBM, its pretty much the baddest chopper on the block. If that is mainly your intentions anyway.
It still depends on which one fits you and your needs though in the end.

Welcome out of the shadows! (makes you wonder how many lurkers we have?)

I have both those knives. I would (probably will) let go of the FBMLE. The NMFBM is just a beast of a chopper, although in my case it has been reprofiled. The FBMLE certainly looks better, but if you have to recover funds ( I'm there, too) then it makes financial and functional sense to keep the cheaper, bigger, better chopper.

If money was that much of a concern I'd get rid of the FBMLE. However, I have both the FBMLE and the NMFBMLE and I would keep the FBMLE if I had to choose between those.

This.

Now thats a tough decision. You have 2 kidneys, maybe consider selling one of those off first. The INFI has a better warranty.

More questions first: Are you going to use the one you keep? If not, it really doesn't matter.

Between those two I would sell the FBMLE and look to get a CGFBM down the road to replace it.

Abother vote to axe the FBM LE.

Havent owned either, but the CGNMFBMs reputation precedes itself...

I'd axe the NMFBM for 2 reasons:
1) The CG Busses appreciate more than LEs
2) The Nuclear Meltdown treatment is not my favorite :barf:

If the number on the LE is insignificant to you then get your money from it.
If the number matters, then hang on to it as it will be very hard to get it back.
CG NMFBM's aren't too hard to replace and retain their value pretty well.

Both are great choppers and will do whatever you need them to do. Personally, I would sell an LE and replace it with a CG/coated show version of the same blank that can usually be found a bit cheaper and will perform the same, but that is from a user's view/personal experience on bang for my buck. If my FBM LE wasn't a factory bruiser and my first INFI it would have been on the block a while ago as I prefer the CG's and BWM's for their weight/performance ratio.

I would sell the NMFBM (which I did) as it just never felt right in my hands:confused:
The FBMLE was my first Busse and I love the look and feel of that knife.

A lot of opinions thrown at ya here...

Since you plan to use the one you keep eventually, as you stated, it really comes down to which one feels better to you in your hands. Both are fine knives, both chop great, both will retain their value or much of it, so long as you take care of them...even if used extensively.
My suggestion is to take your time and handle them a lot, and see which fits you best. Do some "air chopping", and also choke up on them as you would for doing other tasks. Handle them with each hand. Take your time and choose wisely, for both are worthy of keeping and both have certain small advantages over the other... which makes them more or less average out to be even overall. It all comes down to personal choice... Which fits YOU better?

Frankly, in your shoes, I'd find something else to sell and keep 'em both! ;):D

BINGO!! Solid advice from a smart man:thumbup:

LOL!! Great advice from a true HOG. That would have been my first option too:D

Do what Jaxx said second, first, and do what he said second when the first option is exhausted. Make sense:confused::o:p

selling the le will provide a better financial recovery than the cg.

I don't agree with this statement depending by what you mean by recovery. The LEs were about $700 and that's about all you'll get for it, while the CG NMFBM were $500 and go for $650 now. So you may get $50 more for the LE but the profit margine is much greater on the CG NMFBM. YMMV
