How do you guys finish off your tips when finishing your grind? I start and complete my "V" grind on the ricosso up to 4/5 ths of the blade. My angles look great, then I feather in to the point, that takes care of spine end taper. My problem is completing or terminating the grind angle (edge) up to the point. My grinder is 6x48 and I feel that is the problem. Im basically grinding the whole blade at once. Do you agree or is their a tech. that Im missing out on. I can usually get it close and finish it with stones. Most people cant see it but I know its there. I want he grind as perfect as I can get it. Thank you for your replies in advance. www.homestead.com/hvknives/

Howdy There..!
I also know what ya mean.! Had the same problem when I first started, one thing that I do now is to back off on the pressure that I apply the closer I get to the tip. I have found that seems to help bring your grind together. Give that a try and hope that it will help, also Practice, Practice....! Good Luck.!

I agree with what has been said.

I have been flat grinding knives for 16 years now and I honestly can't tell someone how to freehand flat grind a blade. I did teach myself how to do it and I feel that is the best way to learn how it is done. You just have to feel the grind. It will come to you. All you have to do is practice.
