If you like the Strider SMF more than the SNG...

...could you tell me why? I'm just curious because it seems like the reason you might would be due to your hand size or possibly blade thickness.

I briefly owned an SNG DGG a year or two ago but wasn't a fan of the grips. I just recently got a CC version and I'm really liking it...

The SMF blade is slightly thicker (0.165" vs. 0.190" ) and although the blade size increases from 3.5" to 4" the cutting edge itself only grows an eighth of an inch (2.875" to 3" ). Probably the biggest difference is that, closed, the SMF is 0.9" longer than the SNG. (4.75" vs. 5.65" )

Here's where my questions arise - do you who prefer the SMF have some monstrous hands? Below you can see my choked up vs. choked down grips and even choked down I can easily fit all my fingers on the handle. I wear size large gloves but I'd consider myself to have medium-to-large hands.

So do any of you who prefer the SMF not have really big hands? I'm curious, mainly because I'm considering trying one but given the fit of my SNG and the nearly identical cutting edge...I'm just not sure what would make it better, if anything?

Sng is perfect IMO. Some people like the SMF because they either have big hands or just like big knives.

SNg's are great however, I'd kill to get my old 3/4 grind aluminum SMF back as you can see from my signature below... SMF's in that configuration are just so much beefier/awesome.
