Hello,Last week I finished a partial order for Joel Pirela. This was 8 of the 10 piece order.I assured him that he would have the knives by the end of he week.I had to do more work on 2 of the knives and I didn't want to rush them so I sent him the other 8 late last week. These knives were sent Priority Overnight at a very heafty price. It's worth it right?WRONG.I thought I could depend on Fed Ex to make the delivery on time and they have let me down big time. They can not find my package anywhere. It's not my package; it's everyones who ordered one.I suspect foul play.I spent about 4 hours in the Fed Ex Dist. Center today with no more answers at the end than I had at the beginning. If you ordered one, please be patient. If they don't show up by tomorrow, I am committed to re-making all that were stolen in a timely manner.I can not see any other alternative.I have been raging mad all day.I walked through the warehouse myself. To no avail.I will be calling fed ex tonight after they do their so called sorting. And if that doesn't work, I will be on the phone or in their office until they find Your knives. If I have to remake them I will change the design a little so the stolen ones stand out if they ever turn up.Any way Please be paitent.
I will keep you informed.
It is No one fault but mine for thinking that Fed Ex wouldn't let me down.I can only hope it turns up.Sorry for any inconvienence this has caused.

Sincerely,
Brad Duncan
I am talking about # 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9
I will be sending 8,and 10 out this week. Not with Fed Ex.

That is terrible. Not your fault though. These things do happen. I hope Fedex can find them. Are they serial numbered? Maybe we can all keep an eye out on ebay and other locations where they may show up.

Might I suggest that on the new knives, you do something that makes them different from the first batch. That way, if down the road someone comes across one, there mightbe a way to track it back to the thief.

Brad, Joel,

Sorry to hear about this - I hope you get your knives back at some point.

Regards,

Ed

All of the knives are numbered on the inside of the liner toward the but of the knife. Thanks for the incouragment.
Brad

A worst case scenario if ever I heard one...that super sucks!! Bear up Brad, it can't get any worse :)

As of this morning they are not in the FED EX system. They are now STOLEN! I am going to begin the replacements this week.I have a show next weekend in Austin so I will have todo some work on those knives as well.If you ordered one.Give me 3 weeks and I will have this ordeal taken care of.Enough chat.I have alot of knives to make.
This has been one of the worst weeks of my knife making carrier.
Take care.

Brad,

This is terrible. I wish there was something I could do to help. I hope Fed Ex is at least workning on an insurance claim for you.

Eric.

This is probably preaching to the choir, Brad, but is there something about your return address that would indicate there are knives in the packages? Virtually all of the knife manufacturers, and I'm sure many makers use some innocuous initials or something like that. It apparently has cut way down on their theft problems. For them, it was a bigger thing for knives being returned for service or exchange. The light-fingered postal types -- and those working for private carriers -- would see say "Buck Knives" and zap, the package was gone. Understand that B.K. doesn't have many probs.

Sur glad they found your package(s)! Must have been one heck of a relief for you.

I dont have anything on my return but Brad Duncan.I found the it makes me more easy.I was so happy those knives showed up.That is many hours of work. Thanks Again
Brad

Haven't been on the forums for a while, and reading through the begining of the thread had me totally cringing with pain, fear and even some anger.

The first knife I every ordered off the internet was delivered to my dorm. The desk clerk signed for the days delivery of UPS packages, but didn't even check to make sure everything was there. So as far as UPS was concerned my package was delivered. Thankfully the driver found it in his truck later that night and brought it to me the next day.

I'm glad this one turned out well for you Brad!

~Mitch
