Prohibition of firearms is just like prohibition of drugs or alcohol; it will only result in new criminal empires and lower the safety of the average citizen.

The problem is that a lot of people are turning a deaf ear to what he really stands for and will vote for him anyway. I believe that the country I fought for and have respected for 55+ years will be over when he is elected! I don't understand how people can sell their freedoms for a few social programs.
 
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.
 
i hate him so much, where the hell am i supposed to find 10k to spend on an AR, springfield xd, remington 870 etc.. by november?!?!
and if knives are outlawed.....were all screwed.

I think the politicians need to move out of their hill-top estates in the good side of town, and spend a week living where the little people do, and see if they feel safe walking around unarmed. I've had, in the few short years I've been carrying a blade on my belt, 2 incidents where a violent person was deterred from violent actions towards me or my family because (I feel) they noticed I was armed and not easily bullied. The problem is people shouting down this anti self-defense nonsense from their ivory towers, not knowing what the hell they're saying.

Why can't people see the truth in the saying "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns"? If the criminal is making the decision to rob someone of their life or property, why can't people see they will also decide to break the law saying not to get a gun illegally? Didn't they ban guns in England only to have crime go up?
 
yep, that sounds like obama...im praying night and day he doesn't get elected...if he does then no matter who it is whether it be knife lovers, gun lovers, or both ALL AMERICANS WOULD BE SCREWED!!
 
As strong as this topic is, this is not the political forum. Please have the Mods move it.We really need to try and keep shop talk clean from non-knife making threads.

This is definitely the wrong forum. It's even more the wrong forum because knifemaker's already have their own off-topic forum, Around the Grinder. It's too late to send this to the Political Arena, so ...

Edit: I didn't realize till I moved it that even Around the Grinder is open to Basic and above. Tough luck for the Registered Users who were interested. The alternative would have been to shut it down altogether. There is a reason we have these rules. Any problem with them, post it in Service & Support.

yes Around the Grinder was set up for US to shoot our sheet about what ever ? that's why I didn't put it where I don't go,, my home is in the shop talk and here in the grinder..

I pay my $50.00 a year to use it.. :)
 
As a gun owner,I am all for keeping our guns and knives and usually support the NRA (the most powerful lobby group in the country), but I don't think that our middle class can survive another 4 -8 years of the status quo. We have lost so many jobs that it is ridiculous. As a construction worker I have seen too many big projects shut down lately due to the economy. I am talking about thousands of jobs that aren't going to happen.. The republicans wont be happy until we are all working for 10 bucks an hour with no benefits.. Try to support a family on that.. You will have to sell your guns just to buy food and keep the lights on. :( We can't afford to be single issue voters. We must look at where the country is heading and make the right choices to protect our way of life.. Is Obama the answer? I don't know, but I can't vote to put our working class in the poor house.. Sorry to disagree..
 
I'm not getting on anyones back here but just giving my opinons only, we all have the right to do so..

I agree we need change but not in the way we'll be lead by Obama. ..
a man with the name Hussein in kis name makes me very nervous to start with and
he can not make good on most of what he professes anyway.. realistically none of them can.. we just get caught up in the hype and who lies the best..

channel 76 if I remember right.. he's using money to buy his way in anyway he can.. has anyone asked where he gets all his Money to do that stuff , TV isn't cheap, running his own all day shows, day in and day out..

once liberty is gone the money will go anyway a lot faster in the end..... we won't have any planes left, they will be all stuck in all our buildings killing people.. because we won't be able to protect our selves any longer..

times are hard , mark my words once Obamar gets in he will appoint 3 judges of his choice to the high courts and then watch the sh!t start to hit the fan.. the first thing he'll do is disarm us all , being armed is the sole reason and the back bone of what we are and have been, years strong in the first place.. who do we blame ? US or the U.S. it's one in the same...

when the U.S. told Russia to back off Georgia they did, why?.. armed strong is the reason with humanity in mind,, if we back down because of Obama's RULE, then,, what will we look like? wimps ..

we dug our own hole by not speaking up as individuals so we put the blame on Bush..
we are the US gov if we vote and voice our opinions all together we wouldn't be in this position in the first place.. we did it by not speaking to our reps in the first place but just letting the Boobs do as they want once in.. we still have a say..

our reps are there to speak for us if we don't tell them what we want we can't change anything,, it's easier if we put it on the back of Bush by blind trust, now Obama will take advantage of the same thing if he gets in, blind trust.
we have the say, we have the vote, we have the power, if we want to use it.. most of us are just lead like dumb sheep being headed by Bozos.. I say McCain and hold him to his words.. be on his back..and make changes the right way..
