And could only choose one knife, one flashlight and one multi-tool to keep on you (not in your pack), out of this list, what would it be and why? Hiking, city exploring, the trip in the car itself, maybe the beach (but don't let this sway your decision due to the salt water).

-Spyderco Military
-Spyderco Caly 3 CF
-Benchmade Griptilian
-Large Sebenza 21 CF
-Kershaw Blur
-Spyderco Salt I
-Opinel #8

-Victorinox Huntsman lite
-Victorinox Swisschamp
-Leatherman Wave with pocket clip

-Streamlight stylus pro
-Streamlight microstream
-Surefire 6PX Pro
-Olight i6 Paladin

Caly 3 & swisschamp & microstream

PS: But I would take my small Sebenza, Nano flashlights (on zippers and keychains), and SAK Farmer

The caly 3 is my favourite of those knives for edc.... but I'd have to go with the opinel, it is better for food with the longer blade. For weight reasons I would not necessarily even take a dedicated knife though.

Opinel (optional) + Swisschamp + Microstream

PS: my choice of flashlight would be something that runs on AA batteries and gives a higher max output, perhaps a headlamp. Fenix LD20 + Vic Spartan is what I have and use.

I face this horrible decision often, since I'm on the road a lot.

Out of the options you listed these are the ones I'd pick:

-Griptilian. Though choice, all are great knives and I'd be happy with any of them. The Griptilian is lightweight, the blade is long enough for anything you might need a pocket knife for, uses good steel and is not difficult or too expensive to replace if lost.

-Leatherman Wave. The pliers are just much better than those on the SwissChamp, and the Huntsman Lite is too bulky for what you get (plus the Wave has a bit holder which gives you a lot of options).

-Stylus Pro. Decent output and battery life, uses easy to find AAA batteries and is compact and lightweight.

Spyderco Military
Leatherman Wave (actually I carry a Charge frequently)
I don't know much about those lights, I carry a Fenix PD32.

Currently on vacation through Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Brought a Tenacious and a Four Sevens mini. So far, the Tenacious has seen a lot of cheese and salami duty.

Opinel #8
Leatherman wave with pocket clip
Streamlight Stylus Pro

Why? Because I actually have all 3 and carry the leatherman and the stylus pro daily, the opinel is in my EDC rotation but usually gets left at home as I prefer my small fixed blades.

Caly 3, Leatherman, Stylus Pro. The Leatherman and Stylus Pro are part of my usual work carry anyway. The Stylus Pro rides nicely in a pocket sheath with an Izula or BK14. The Leatherman stays in the car in my survival bag. The Caly 3 is very effective but also very low profile if I need to use it in public.

If you are flying I'd say take the opinel and pick up a cheap, no name multi tool and flashlight. The TSA has sticky fingers.

If you're driving I'd say take them all :D

-Spyderco Salt I
-Opinel #8

-Victorinox Huntsman lite

-Streamlight microstream

About the lightest weight 'package' of the three, and call all go easily in one pocket. I'd likely go Salt over the Opi due to one-hand-opening....

Kershaw Blur, Wave, 6PX.

If you want a light, pretty much any brand is fine; when you need a light, I want it to be a Surefire. The 6PX is a little bulky, but if you're only taking one light I'd want it to be a SF.

I would take the Wave and forget the separate folder. Yeah, I love my folders. But when traveling, things get lost, cops might bust your chops, security guards hassle you, etc. The Wave's knife is plenty good for just about everything, and in my view tends to fly below the radar. The same is true with the SAKs, but the Wave's utility is hard to beat. You do lose the defensive aspect of the separate folder, though.

As for the light, my EDC for a good while now has been the Streamlight Protac 2xAAA. So I would advocate its cousin, the Stylus Pro. It doesn't have the output, multiple levels or strobe of the Protac, but its a darn good, basic light that's easy to carry.

Small sebenza, not worried about rust, does what it needs and still under 3" blade.
leatherman multitool, works great.
pd30 flashlight with cr123a rechargable. But maybe ill get a cheap light that takes AA just for the trip.
