I recently got a screaming deal on a waved black Matriarch 2 that had been disassembled and is missing a couple parts. This has me internally justifying at least $80 of mods once I get it back from a Spydie Spa.

A Wise Men Co. signet ring is pretty likely, but, what should I consider? Regrind? Scales? I’m looking for recommendations / options. Don’t get too caught up in my stated price range; it’s flexible.
 
Not knowing a whole lot about it..please forgive me. Are they all fully serrated?

I believe it's an Endura handle, so definitely swap out for some @BOOMER52 Miltary style scales.

That's my set on an Endura. Love it.

Yours is waved, so I'd add the finger ring backspace like the photo above and a deep carry clip. That's probably all I'd do to it.
 
The Signet Ring would be a good start, as others have mentioned.

This is what I did for a fun project with a Lil' Matriarch. That's a Wise Men signet ring, MXG Gear clip and awesome scales with a finger choil mod by Boomer52.

It's a little impractical for EDC, but it sure is fun to play with!

You pretty much read my mind. I was gunna suggest grinding the hole into a wave but apparently it already has one.

So my next suggestion was a signet ring which will turn it into an awesome knife. I assume you wanted it serrated but the plain edge matriarchs are pretty awesome. Getting the serrations ground off into a plain edge would remove way too much of the blade.
 
I have one with the signet ring. I could never get the technique down to open it with the Emerson opener. Seemed awkward and risky. But it is one bad-ass knife to fool with. The ring would be a real skull buster in a SD situation. Other than that I didn't think it added anything to the knife.

That looks excellent. Aye, this would be even more impractical, but I do really like the idea of putting something like this together. Thank you for the picture - I might see if I can get a silver twill + bolster kinda setup with a similar choil mod.
 
The Matriarch is a pretty big knife (basically an Endura) so I wouldn’t personally add a ring to it.

I really like mine as is. If anything, a cool set of Titanium or G10 scales would be cool....

I guess that was a little unclear. It all makes sense in my head while I'm typing. haha
What I meant was, the Wise Men ring ( for retention ), Tero Tuff scales ( for grip) and the carbidized edge ( for nasty cutting ) would be my choice of mod's for the purpose of self defense .

That makes total sense as the Matriarch is basically a muscle cuttting slasher. Having it taken away from you by an assailant would be a very bad thing.

I edited my post to make sure everyone can understand just how brilliant my choice of mod's are. ;):D
Also, damn you Comeuppance Comeuppance ! Now I want a new Matriarch and I won't be satisfied until I throw at least another 100$ in to it.

Luckily I have 100% confidence in my inability to use a bladed weapon effectively. It's a cool knife and I admire it, but I know I'd never use it.

Try putting the clip on the other side of the ha dle and practice reverse waving it. I think the signet ring is a major asset as it helps prevent the knife from being taken from you and also allows for a more positive draw.

Me reverse waving from my left pocket. This waves into a more positive grip. You would have to set up the knife clip for “left hand” carry if you want to reverse wave from your right pocket.
