heat treated it, finish ground it and "engineered" a handle - would that person be considered a knifemaker?

Please give us your definition of "made" and "engineered"

I'd say that the person in question needs to finish grinding that blade.......

I wonder about your drive for validation from a label and the family of "makers/smiths". Your work will speak to us about your knowledge, your help for others on this forum and in life will speak to us about your character. Get on with making, we'll sort your work out soon enough.

Make your damn knives and be done with it. If you're making blades for sale then the market will either prove you out or run you out.

The same person?

My post mentions finish grinding and heat treating and I think that a "single person" is usually meant to mean the "same person" unless that person has multiple personality disorder. Keep the valid questions coming, "wil" you?

Thread closed.

The answer is a knife putter together from parts and adding some finish to the whole thing. Fun thing to do. Does not make it a custom knife though does not mean the person who put it together is a knife maker either.

BMK.

Your move. Make it a bad one and you already know what the outcome will be.

Not going to let your antics degrade this forum.

You better get a good solid grasp of the above sentence.
