i know that i am an ignorant wretch, but i don't have a clue what you guys are talking about,so tell me what is a buck 110 two dot.

also can i send in my old 110 and have the old blade replaced with s30v
and,if so,how much?

A Buck 2 Dot is a Buck made between 1974 and 1980, and has a "." on either side of the model number at the base of the blade.

Buck in the past has done blade swaps, but not sure if they still do.

Contact Joe Houser at Buck and he can tell you.

A two dot 110 is a 110, made well back in the d a y, with 440C blade steel and solid wood scales. The 110 two dot is also explained in a current thread in this forum.

No. Unfortunately, Buck will only replace your blade with what it came with if that blade is still available. No upgrades are done per my recent email to Buck.

Two dot refers to the date stamp onn the blade, thats .110. pretty easy date codes back then.LOL.I dunno if ya can still get the blasde swaps, last time i checked it was only available if the knife you sent in was originaslly s30v and needed replacing.

Interesting how misleading thread titles can be... I thought someone else had met my brother-in-law! You can imagine my chagrin when I see 'Need knife/gun/flashlight for wife/girlfriend' threads. Glad you guys got him informed. Merry Christmas!
