Iidentifying my Busse

if its sterile and there are no markings then I would check the thickness. IF its .32" thick approximately it most likely a HOG ASH that's been stripped.

For sure an ASH-1. Looks to have been stripped and give a getto satin finish. Looks good!

Yeah, like I said, first post...I gotta mess up once.

No worries :D We're a fun bunch that like to joke, but also do our best to help out. Hope you stick around and get to know everyone. As for the pic, I agree with u812  Welcome to the forum as well.

Welcome to BF and congrats on your first Busse. The good natured hazing comes with the territory.

:thumbup:Nice ASH! Can't tell if it's linen tiger hide, could be tan canvas micarta.

It looks like an hog ash1 .32 that was sent to ban to be stripped, satined and given his stupid sharp treatment. then a little bit down the line I sanded the handle slabs into hand shaped if I'm right it was my first busse about 5 years ago

Welcome to the Blade Forums! That is a beautiful ASH-1! Great score

Thanks y'all.

It seems to me like tiger linen micarta...I thought that tiger linen was only available on LE ash-1s.

And also on the HOG ASH-1's that were a special offer to the HOGs. Some were sold, stripped, satinized, etc. along the way.

Here's what a HOG ASH looks like:

They are combat grade thick (.32" for this particular model), "muddy" coated, and the only combo that had TH linen micarta as this wasn't an offered option for the regular run of .32" CG ASH-1's. The other noticeable difference is that all the HOG ASH's had our "inducted HOG name" lased onto the front side of the blade. :)

The dreaded double post...
Guess BF is still having some issues?
