Hey guys,

Does anyone know where I can get the balls that would fit the ikbs ball bearing pivot that is on my CRKT Ripple. If you know the size or where to get them that would be great. Took it apart and lost some.

You could try sending a very nicely worded email to CRKT. Something with a fancy, flowery border, and lots of "pleases" in it.

Offering them a blow job would probably work too.

Or try a R/C hobby store. The balls in the IKBS are pretty small, however, many R/C Car transmissions (in higher end race level cars) use a "ball" type differential, in which small balls are used in the transmission.

They are 1/16 of an inch. Next time you take it apart, do it over a wet paper towel. This keeps the balls from bouncing and rolling all over the place.

Go to the Bay and type in IKBS balls..seller is toolsupply

Yeah I took mine apart and cussed for an hour! who in their right mind thought that was a good idea?

yeah lets just loosely put 65 ball bears in the pivot so that when these ass hat customers take the knife apart the flea sized ball bearings will leap out and go god knows where! That sounds awesome.

I know better now.... I also much prefer the ones like Kershaw uses that are encased in the cage.

If it says IKBS then you are going to be dealing with loose bearings. Before you take the knife apart squeeze a fair amount of thick grease into the pivot and the ball bearings should stay in place. If they don't stay in place they are at least caught by the thick grease. Use the same grease on the bearings when putting the knife back together. Use hot water, WD-40, and compressed air to get all that grease out of there when the knife is back together and then add a drop of your preffered oil to the pivot.

I found that taking a knife apart in a baggie works best the first time you do it.
