Factory edge = 350 Fail ..

Ok , the only complaint I have is with the thumb stud ..
It's got a rounded end like a half ball bearing ..
Which makes it slippery .. That can be bad juju with a sharp knife ..

The factory edge was some what FUBAR with a visually un even bevel ..
Even after a wet stone grind there is FUBAR at the rear of the blade .

Smooth action with no blade play and no hotspots .
I will have to replace that thumb stud how ever , just feels like an accident looking for a place to happen !

( Still waiting for more rope )

Wow , July 14 / Aug 11 ....
Anyways , time to put the 80 grit regrind to the rope !

Thumb stud : Yes , first vid I remember complaining about the Thumb Stud !
So I simply replaced it & problem fixed .. Yes , it was that simple !

Oh right , the rope slicing ! The new edge returned some 700 slices .. From about 350 slices there was a little niggle as you sliced the paper ..
But the edge hung in there till it did a 700 Fail . No edge roll ! Damned Nice !
The edge just wore away . Which is exactly what you want from your knife .

$41 Oz Bananans to my door from Hong Kong for a D2 that returns 700 . Oh dear !
That's a lot of knife for the money . ( A lot ) My main complaint was the factory thumb studs - Replaced now !
ANd that leaves the bushcraftyness ? Yeah , that spine is not much chop !
But still a hell of a knife !
Conclusion = Money well spent !
