Ikoma bowie...awesome

The postmam just delivered
a belated Christmas gift;
a nine inch bowie by Brazilian
knifemaker Flavio Ikoma.
I had actually ordered the knife last
September from Mauro Machado.

The knife is absolutely first rate.
The fitting and finish is,to my eye,flawless.

I own several handmade knives by some world
class makers - Lile, Corby,Gilbreath,
Denning,Randall, etc. Senor Ikoma's work
compares favorably,indeed.

Although I can't post a photo of mine,
Mauro Machado has several pics of an Ikmoa bowie
that is the virtual twin of mine on his web

Flavio is by far the best Brazilian knifemaker today and his work can easily be described as flawless. No matter if it is a bowie, a folder, a sashimi knife or a fighter - to leave his shop, it has to be perfect in every aspect. And thogh this can't be seen, his heat treatment is also state of the art.
Plus, he is a very serious professional to do business with.
I am trying hard to bring him to teh Forums but he is a very busy guy.
