New here, but not to other forums. Does the exchange here not have an "I'll take it" rule? Whoever posts first is entitled to first grabs at the item??? I posted an "I'll take it" on a Dirac Delta today, 6 minutes after it was posted and I have heard zip from the seller. He just posted that it was sold. To who???

Sellers can sell to whomever they want. Typically "I'll take it" gets priority, but it's not a rule. Some sellers are hesitant to deal with new members with no track record. Also, the seller may have been contacted via PM before your "I'll take it" post.

Best bet is to do both PM and post in the thread. Then you have a paper trail on both the thread and in private message with time stamps. You still won't know if someone beat you to it in a PM but, you'll probably get a response, win or lose.

It isn't the forum as much as it is some buyers and sellers doing what they can to avoid being scammed. Some are a bit gunshy. There are a lot of threads in Feedback: The Good The Bad and The Ugly subforum about thieves so both buyers and sellers like to be cautious.
