If the knife has no choil wrong handed locks can be difficult, even dangerous, to close left handed. The Tenacious is a good example of that. But I agree the "hide the hole" trick is can make opening annoying as well. The Rock Lobster is probably the most egregious example in the current lineup. It gives us southpaws the one finger salute.The main annoying thing about liner and frame locks on the wrong side isn't that it's harder to operate the lock, but that the locking liner often is too close to the thumb hole, making it harder to open. It's not extremely difficult (except on some knives), but it is a bit harder and it is most of all annoying. Gives you the feeling that the knife in question was made for somebody else than you.
