Hey everyone I want to buy a Benchmade 42 and I was wondering if it would arrive here to Mexico or if there is a law against it. If there is in MExico City then I could send it to Houston Texas cause I have a house over there but are balisongs legal in TEXAS??? PLEASE HELP I DON'T WANT CUSTOMS TO STEAL MY BABY:(
THANKS

Texas law leaves quite a bit of detail out when it comes to these knives. It depends on what you are doing, It is illegal to Carry and Conceal a balisong in Houston Texas only because it falls under the definition of a "Switchblade Knife" in most areas. But the main portion of the law states that you may not carry a dagger/dirk, club, knife with over 5.5 inches in blade length. Owning a balisong is not a crime and as long as it is packaged properly, can be transported without worry.;) Good luck

It is too bad that the link is missing one important key thing! The definition of a "Switchblade Knife":( which is apparently stated right before that section of the code in #5.

Thanks a lot Both I think what I'm going to do is to ask them to ship it to Mexico City and see what happens, Do you know if in 1 stop knives they send the knives internationally with the free bladeforums.com members ship shipping??? Cause I'm going for that!!:p
Thanks

you know, you could check out this page. they deliver international, they can even conceal the package for transit! :)

why don't you mail them and ask how your chances are? josh is very helpful and very nice, and even though knifezilla is a bit more expensive than other places, it may very well be worth it! :)

good luck!

I think you'll need to re-read 1SK's International Shipping rules again:

It's still a great place to buy from.

The problem is that from mexico I can't talk to them on the phone I don't know why maybe because it's a 1800 number (one knife stop), because I also want themn to match the price for the Benchmade 42 that one new graham is at $106, but I can't get them on the phone and I've already e-mailed them and I get no answer.
Thanks anyways

They will reply to your email soon, trust me.

Just order online and mention the URL of the price match and that will be fine. Put it in the little boxes they have for comments on the order.

This may or may not help. One of my neighbors is a Texas Ranger. I was discussing this subject a few weeks ago. He told me that the law in Texas does NOT state anything about "balisongs". No wording what so ever. But, its vague on purpose, kinda like the non certified carry of a handgun. There are conditions where you can carry without a certificate and conditions where you can't. Typical. I"ve been carrying a bali here for about 20 years and no one has raised an eyebrow yet.

Your best bet is to read the Texas criminal code for youreself.
Use any search engine.
Find Texas government section. Find criminal code.
Keyword: knife, butterfly, balisong, etc. and see what comes up.
So you will be knowing what goes down.
