Illinois Chicago suburbs

I am also 16 and I've never had a problem purchasing knives from the stores I've visited when my mom was with me, so as long as your parents don't have a problem with it, there shouldn't be a problem. Actually the owner of the knife shop I frequent knows I am as responsible as most adults, so he doesn't require that my mom be with me any more:cool: . If you are going to purchase online, you need an adult signature for the package. I wouldn't advise carrying a Ka-Bar in Chicago, though.

A shop might not sell to you simply for liability reasons. A parent should be able to buy one for you (unless they're unwilling, but that's the subject for another thread).

I think you have to be 18 by state law. You planning on using it for camping or something?

Are your parents cool with you having this knife? If so just have them buy it for you.

Y'all act as if Kabar ONLY makes honkin' big fixed blade Marine knives. They also have some semi-honkin' big folders..... Somewhere around here I have an itsy-bitsy Kabar pocket knife that measures out at around 2" closed.
