so i went to my girl's house to make dinner last night. lo and behold, she was in the bath when i arrived. i could not find her nice knives. all i could find was the dull crap that i usually find as what apsses for an excuse of a knife in most people's homes. so, since i never leave home without a CRK, i whipped out my trusty Large Classic Woodie and go to work on the 3 pound of chicken thigs. after a few minutes, they are all deboned, trimmed of fat and excess skin, scored on the skin side and ready for teh broiler. i am only kicking myself for not having my caerma so i could take a pic of the result. and a yummy teriyaki chicken dinner was had by all thanks to me and my kick ass large sebenza! man, the more you use them, the better they are.

p.s.
mine went and scraped the bone, cut the gristle and fat and skin without any problems and was easy to hold throughout. a quick nice rinse (and a wash today) and it is back to new (or better, since imho these things get BETTER than new when they are used!!)

awesome. I've done similar things with mine. I would have wanted my Mountaneer I for that tho, easier cleaning afterward.

Wow you must be a very nice guy.

One, I would not have made dinner. Two, I would have joined the girl in the bath.

Just playing with ya!:D

Glad to hear your Seb is earning its keep.

It's a great knife, but beware..... It breeds!!!!! Soon there will be more! (and your wallet will become somewhat lighter):D

yeah, if one ever uses or even handles a CRK you WILL be spoiled. i started with an Umfaan, went to a small classic, then a mNandi, then a large classic woodie, then another large classic woodie, and then a small classic woodie!!! LOL love these things!

Nice!

I just recently got mine, and I can't seem to put it down! Truely excellent knives.

That said, we need to work on your priorities. :D

1. JOIN GIRL IN BATHTUB!!!

2. Make dinner after bath with beautiful woman.

Is it ok to wash a wood inlay under the tap ? just wondered as i dare not do it to mine .

Dunc

The inlay should be able handle a little tap water. The only problems I've heard of regarding water and inlay damage is if the water is very cold or very hot. Lukewarm water and a mild detergent followed by a high grade wood wax would be the way to go.
