i've been bitten by the od green blade, g10 orange scales thing (just ordered one in the form of an esee-4)...partly mrs. s' influence and i've been using orange paracord as lanyard ever since i almost lost one of my knives after setting it down in a pile of leaves and couldn't find it for a few minutes.

...just a feeler for an od green/g10 orange scales junglas in the future perhaps? as much as i wanted one really badly, i couldn't justify spending that kinda money for the limited edition bladeforums orange scales junglas as a user.

You'll enjoy the OD/Orange G10 combo very much. I sure do.

I, too, think the Junglas and the rest of the line needs an OD/Orange G10 option.

After the Izula (which was OD), my first ESEE was the green/orange 4. I have since gifted it to my father who after watching me prepare a fire 10 times faster with a fixed blade than he could with a small folder I felt bad for him and passed it on. ;)

I've also been carrying an orange-handled Griptillian for months now and am very much on the orange band wagon. I got some orange paracord and have been making bracelets and lanyard and what not.

I'd love to see other orange ESEE offerings.

The first time I saw an ESEE3 with od/orange, something stuck with me. I couldn't get it out of my head, so I bought it. Little did I know that an addiction has been infused into my DNA.

Something about Orange G10 is stuck in my mind now. I still like other colors and stuff, but that 3 is a badass little blade, with big blade skills.

I'm not sure about actually ODing the blade, but why wait for scales. Grab some G10 and roll man! Alpha Knife Supply has good prices on G10. Do a little bit of measuring/math to find out how big the slabs already on it are and buy (I'd recommend anyway) just a little bit bigger. I don't know what you have tool wise, but with a saw (I used a coping saw), a rasp (with rounded and flat side), bastard mill file, and round file I shaped some G10 slabs for my Izula. It was great fun, I really love the knife now... though I do need a new sheath.

God bless,
Adam

Almost forgot, you will nee to borrow some time on a drill press to get the old screws into the new handle. I didn't have the luxury of screws on the Izy.

I've always been the same, either black coat or no coat.. but I've always admired other colors like DT for ever, (from afar)..

when I first got my DT izzy,4 i didn't like them, as a matter of fact was considering trading straight across for a black ones..

but in time they've grown on me, go figure........

besides the 4's coating is wearing off:D

I am glad some folks like the Color Scheme I push so hard for.......
Junglas ,now there is an idea ;) or is it

Dale at TKC said they are planning an entire ESEE scale line, cant wait. Int eh mean time I am stripping my Junglas, KG coatign the blade in OD and making my own g10 scales for it, I'll post pics

Shit, I'll take one. OD blade and Orange G10 is my ESEE favorite setup. Thanks TTD, for pushing for it.

Did someone say od and orange?

Maybe we can see if Dale has something cookin in terms of Junglas handles? Even with the black coating I would have a hard time not buying one with some orange g-10.

Gonna have to +1 with the OD/orange I'm hoping the USPS gods are kind to me tomorrow so I can get my hands on my first ESEE from t-k-c. Sure it won't be my last.

For one reason or another (see crazed knife fan) the DT with micarta handles looks sooooooo pretty.

orange is good!

i'm ordering two of the orange Izulas and will be looking forward to TKC coming out with scales for it in the orange/black tigerstripe. :D

and the OD & orange versions are nice... for those that don't want to be tacticool ninjas. i get a bit weary of all the gear being all black all the time. really like having the option of coyote, OD and foliage green stuff for the ARs from Magpul and a few other sources. Cav Arms has orange furniture! :p

i'm very mechanically inclined and love to work on cars (i changed the suspension & diff on 6 of my buddies' cars, etc.) but for some reason i just don't like working with wood (aside from camping stuff) or something similar so even if someone gave me all the tools i need i still wouldn't shape my own g10. plus, i've read here that g10 dust is toxic so that's an extra dis-incentive.

I've got one. It's my EDC. It's the only knife I own that has a name. I call it "The Pumpkin." Cool knife.

If you don't like working with wood/stuff then yeah scrap it. And yes dust mask/respirator is imperative.

I first got the Orange/OD 4 just cause of the G10. Wasn't before long that i started to love the color scheme. Thinking of getting a black blade with Dale's orange scales...

ahh, it's been awhile since i smelled that new esee knife smell.

i bought the black blade back in april (serial #0007) and now the o.d. green blade has serial #2089. that doesn't include the "rc-4" marked ones. these knives are flying off the shelves!

@ JV3: Very nice photos, sir. The 4 is definitely a outstanding knife. It's my first and only ESEE knife until now.:)
