Just joined the board. Wish I had found it earlier. This forum is of high interest to me. I am looking for a good fixed blade for the outdoors and was wondering if anyone can recommend a source for the Becker BK7. Thanks.

Welcome Newbie...

It's nice to "see new faces" here. You will find some of the finest people on the board.

My little bit of advice... you might want to handle the knife before you buy. See if a friend or acquaintance might have one already. Consider buying from a "brick and mortar" store if your budget allows it.

The above mentioned retailers are all reliable outfits so buy with confidence, but you might want to check the exchange section as well. You will need to be a bit more careful there, but if you ask around, the people here will be happy to point out who is reliable and who is not.

Oops, forgot another one of the very good online dealers for Becker Knives. It is C.R. Specialties (CRS). Cheryl & the gang will definitely take good care of you.

(edited to add) MM's suggestion to handle a Becker before buying (if you haven't already done so) is on the mark. The Becker handles some folks love, some folks don't like at all, and other people are sort of 50/50 neutral about them. Because handles and their fit to the user are so subjective and individually peculiar, be sure that the handle of whatever knife you think of buying fits your hand and intended uses for the knife.

Thanks for the advice to handle the Becker first. I was set to purchase one from one of the mentioned vendors but now I think I will wait until the end of the month for a big local gunshow that will have some Beckers.
