We've been under tornado warnings since about ohhh 1:30 this afternoon, it's 3am now and weather center just said warnings/watches until 9 am. :( Lighting burned a house about a half mile from me. I guess I'll have to see what kind of mess is out there when the sun comes up. :(

Will,

send out a team of specialized ninja monkeys , with high tech cameras, to scope out the damage before going out on your own.

And dont forget , to take your "guardian" angle w/ya for maximum protection of course;).

Ya know , sometimes a herd of wild monkeys just isn't enough to ward off large doses of evil, or tornados in your case, you may also have to call in the pigs.

BTW, hope all is well with you and your family, as well as property!!

andrew

p.s. just cause i hope all is well, dosent mean i dont still hate you:p

I hope everything is okay down there Will!

Reminds me how fortunate we are not to have that sort of thing to contend with up here.

Hope all is ok there Will and you can get out to see what's going on. I will be happy when I weather gets better for all of us. Post whats going on if you can.

Seems like all the tornados we used to get have moved over to your neck of the woods. Sure is a busy storm season to be this early. Makes one wonder how the spring will be.

I've had a tornado jump my house...a few miles on either side. One even touched down in the cotton field behind our house once. One day we drove into town to rent a movie and noticed a bunch of cars driving out towards us. We looked over and our neighbor's house (about 1/2 mile off the FM road) was gone. There wasn't even a warning for that one on the TV. Luckily they both ended up diving into the same closet when they heard it a few seconds before it hit. The closet they were in was the only part of the house left standing. A few years later, I drove through the town of Happy about 15 minutes before it was hit about 6 or 7 years ago. My parents watched Olton get hit a few years ago from their drive way (about 10 miles away...and yeah...out here we can see that far).

They're a way of life out here on the plains. Good thing is there isn't any trees to block the view, so you can often times see them coming from a good ways away. Unless they drop on top of you. The time the tornado touched down behind our house, we watched the wall cloud move all the way over from Olton. As the funnel was coming down, you could look out of any window in the house and see 3-4 dust devils spinning up in the surrounding fields. The wall cloud was the most wicked thing I've ever seen on this earth.

Keep your eye to the sky, Will. Hope things settles down for you out there.

Tornadoes are gone, my yard actually flooded to within 2" of my door. My poor neighbor was out this morning about 4am in the storm digging a trench (mine's already dug :p) Ummmm there was some freaking snow today

Andrew, my crack troop of ninja monkeys are riding kites to PA. Expect to be cracked in the head with a large, steaming pile of ninja monkey stuff the next time you dare venture into your shop :p

Nathan, send that weather up to Oklahoma and not my way okay? :p

Nick, I'm glad we don't have 5000000 days of rain a year like you do up there :p

Thanks for the well wishes even you Andrew.

Will, We already have all the tornadoes we need up here in oklahoma.

Thanks anyway

Greg

I did a field work up in Norman when I was finishing up school. Had to wear a Texas Tech name tag during work hours, and man did I get hell for it. :D I can't remember all the Texas jokes I heard while I was there, but I do remember a couple of the Oklahoma jokes I used to defend myself.

Greg, why is West Texas so windy?

Because Oklahoma sucks and New Mexico blows!!:p;) Just kiddin.

Stay safe Will.

The big storms are damn well scary. I have lived through a few of them.

Helpless is the feeling.

Fred

Nathan,

Only two good things that ever came out of Texas.

ZZ Top and Roads,

Just kidding

Greg

Ya know I worked in Oklahoma for some months and I really didn't see where ANYONE in Oklahoma had cause to make fun of Texas. Y'all only have one barbeque joint worth a damn and that was in the projects of Tulsa, roads are horrible, weather is worse and instead of armadillos and possums for roadkill, y'all have skunks. The night life in the town I worked out of consisted of bowling, going to one of the karaoke bars (one of which was in the bowling alley) or watching the meth dealers have gun fights. It was so bad I used to drive to Fort Smith, Arkansas to get a beer without being subjected to some idiot's dream of making it to the Grand Ole Opry. I know why people in Oklahoma noodle, getting my hand bitten off by a snapping turtle would be more fun than listening to karaoke.

The local library was pretty sad, they seemed more than mildly interested that I came in more than once a week and actually checked out books, one day the librarian asked if I actually read the books I was checking out  errrrr why would I bother to come and check out books if I wasn't reading them?

The best thing about Oklahoma was seeing it in my mirrors as I headed home..... I did try to enjoy it.

Such a rave endorsement should be put on the state's bureau of tourism web site.
That's as fine a tableau as I've heard for Oklahoma.
But, then I live in Appalachia. What do I know:D

Fred

Oh come on, fellas! It' can't be THAT bad. It does border Texas! ;) But I do know that folks in Sooner country don't have that high of opinions of the Lone Star State. Just look at the beating they gave my Red Raiders this year. :(:grumpy:

Greg we're just yanking your chain. All in good fun.

Come on Will dont sugar coat it, tell us what you really think of Oklahoma.
I cant believe you didnt find the meth head gun fights entertaining.
I'll have you know that we have two days of nice weather a year.
Whats a library?
We dont noodle snapping turtles, must be an Alabama thing.

Greg, we don't noodle anything down here... now I know you probably won't believe this but people take poles with some string on them, they put a hook and some fish food stuff on that hook then go out to whatever body of water they choose and drink beer. :p

I dunno about Woodward but in Poteau the karaoke is enough to make you want to noodle a snapping turtle ;)

The meth gun fights were always entertaining..... from a distance.

The library is a building (usually) where they have these collections of paper with letters written on them. In Oklahoma there's usually a poster of Toby Keith with "Read Y'all" on the poster. I really wish I could make that up, I tried to buy the Toby Keith "Read Y'all" poster from the Poteau Library, I offered them $100 before I left for that poster. They probably thought I was an anarchist or something.

There's some really nice people in Oklahoma. I did find some good barbeque in the projects of Tulsa. I think the protective mantle of "that boy must be either really hungry or really crazy" (that and the Bama hat :p) allowed me to eat there unmolested.

Will,

You have such a way with words.........WEIRDO:p

Will, I do some hand fishing, not as much as I used to.
I have tried some of those fancy rods with string on them.
If you ever get back out here to your favorite state holler I'll take you fishing.

Nice fish.... hard to tell who's better looking though.... when we go out and use them sticks with string we normally just catch hangovers :p

You didn't address the Toby Keith "Read Y'all" posters..... please tell them I'm not lying about those.
