is pretty useful for a few reasons:

If you lock your thumb and forefinger around the habaki-part of the bolster (the thin bolster part closest to the blade), you get:
1. A very secure grip that will not send a khuk flying, even when you're tired. If your hand slips forward, I guess the cho will save you ;)
B. A very 'balance neutral' feel since your hand is closer to the khuk's point of balance. blade responds quicker, but this does sacrifice some of the punch for speed. If Heber's cut is any indication, this sacrifice is quite moot...
III. Everyone'll know you're a Baddass. Seriously, tho -- two reasons not enuf?
