I'm at the knife crossroads. Where do I go from here?

Ok, so I did the Benchmade thing. Carried a couple good Spydies. Then I started on the Emersons. But I was always a ramblin' man. I'd pick up a new EDC every 2-3 months. Then the cursed CQC-7A landed in my pocket. For over a year now I can't find a knife that will replace it. The ergo's, the handle size, perfect blade length, lock-up, the look that says "Beat me, I like it"... I could go on. So where do I go from here? Do I have the 7A pimped and learn to accept that I've found "the one", or is there a knife out there I haven't found yet? I've managed to rule out all other Emersons due to blade size or shape. Striders and Reeves are retarded expensive. I don't know of any affordable custom that's tough enough. Is there anything left that has the utility, toughness and beef I'm looking for in a folder?

I can't be the only one that's had this experience. I need you all to chime in and help me through this. What did you do? Thanks.

I know just how you feel and I'm really annoyed. I've tried several of the other Emersons and I still return to carrying my Mini-A (small hands you know).

I have a Mini Commander that is acceptable but the only other knife I've found with similar ergonomics is Chris Reeves' Sebenza; just a little rectangular lozenge that doesn't interfere in your pocket but is easy to get into action.

I know just what you are going through. I have a Mini-A that I thought I could never replace but I went farther upscale and got a Chris Reeve small Sebenza; same small rectangular shape, ever better one-handed opening and closing, no tension problems.

As a matter of fact, the Sebenza replaced my Emerson for EDC almost entirely.

Karambit, a simple Emerson Waved Karambit/Tactical folder possibly the finest utility and combat knife you can own. It'll make you wonder why you hadn't owned one years ago, it'll do things you never knew a knife could do before. You won't be able to get dressed without cliping one to your pants pocket.

Commanders; mini, standard or super, are great knifes. Find one that fits your hand. A great design, very usfull, get a satin one since you will hate yourself as soon as you start scratching the black finish. I't a hard working usefull blade it'll serve you well in tactical and civilian life, a step up from your 7A.

I'm tellin ya.... This 7A refuses to leave my pocket. I bit the bullet and ordered a Mini-Com SF PE about 6 weeks ago through my gun guys son. He's just started selling CRK&T and BM knives in his dads shop, and I threw him some business. A month later the thing shows up with a black blade. Just so happens my wife went in to labor the same day and I knew I wasn't going to get out of the house again for a long time so I took it. OK, I said, It's not a satin finish but it'll get the 7A out of my hand for awhile. Sitting in the hospital for 5 days I start taking it apart for initial inspection. Before I even so much as cut a thread from my shirt I discover that two of the frame screws left the factory completely stripped out. So back in the box it went to go out to EKI the day we got home. And the 7A lands back in it's rightful place.
