Hey Guys (and gals),

I'm going to attempt to make a leather sheath for my Fallkniven F1 (and maybe one for my BRKT Bravo 1). However, I was hoping that I could get some insight from the sheathmakers or those with experience in making their own sheaths.

This is what the finished product should look like:

...and this is how everything should look like when I gut the sheath...

My question(s): What size rivets am I using? What length? What size on the chicago screws?

I'm using .080 kydex and 8-9oz leather hide from knifekits.com

I can see that the chicago screws are going to need to be, roughly 1/2" because they would be going through the leather straps...but I can't be sure.

Thanks!

Did you contact Swinkels ?

The man maintains a blog and website, you might check there.

No offense, but it seems a little questionable to take apart someone's work and then ask others how to help you copy it.

JMO, YMMV.

You're kidding right? First off, this is the first sheath that I try to build so, it's not going to look like his. Second, I'm not looking to make money off a sheath that I didn't come up with. And lastly, the Swinkels sheaths and the Hedgehog thumb strap are some of the most imitated sheaths/components that I have encountered from people that actually sell sheaths.

Thanks all...I see this went no where.
