We've been hunting in Kentucky for the past few weeks. . . but we're now back. .

We got a couple of deer and Garth nailed a fairly big coyote! The coyotes are shredding the deer and turkey population down there, so coyote season runs all year with no limits. Garth shot this bad boy with a .300 Win Mag from the kitchen window at approx 65 yards as it approached the guest house!!!

Good thing that Bubble wasn't out back at the time, 'cause it looks like it was big enough to have eaten her in one bite!!!

If you look at the snout you'll note some bite marks where this bad boy had been mixing it up with some other coyotes.

Garth dressed it out with his AD for mounting!

Welcome back and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hope you had a great hunt. How about some pics of the deer???

Nice shot Garth.

Ahh you have to love the "team building" activities. !

Hunting with the Busses - can life get any better? Nail a couple more and perhaps Garth can make Bubbles a full Coyote coat with the pelts. :)

Here in suburban minnesota the coyotes have discovered that there are lots of free lunches and have move in on the Fifi dogs and cats. However I do not think our LEOs would be too understanding of someone taking a few out of our kitchen windows with a 300 win mag. I mean we are a bit into the wilderness here but we have too many girlie boys who might start crying over such a scary noise......

Good times - welcome back:thumbup:

.

Was Garth washing the dishes at the time the Coyote snuck up? He must have his rifle slung on his back at all times!

Sweet! Good job Garth. I'm about to depopulate my property of coyotes soon.
Anyone questioning why we kill coyotes needs to try and raise children and livestock with a pack in the area.:thumbdn:
Got any pics of the deer?

When I was a kid in New Mexico, I spent a summer shooting coyotes for a local rancher at $10.00 a head. I remember that at first, being the dog lover that I am, I wasn't sure if I could actually pull the trigger on a wild pup. In response, the rancher showed me one of his calves that had just been put down, as a good part of its belly had been ripped up by coyotes who'd apparently gotten it down and not worried about killing it before they started eating it. You know, I never had the slightest hesitation when I lined up that first shot.
...and I made an extra $530.00 that summer. :D

Great pics, Jerry, and nice shot Garth.

From the kitchen window?

I bet it took a lot of drinking to get the ringing out of his ears, and everyone else's that was inside when he squeezed of that shot.

From the kitchen window?!? THAT must have made a hell of a noise in the room.

No $hit, a .300 mag out the kitchen window :eek::eek:, making my ears ring here just thinking about it.

Looks like a great time !!!

"(Warning. . Bloody Animal Pics!!)" Jerry, your such a tease !

Between the coyotes, mountain lions, bears around here, I''ve been pocketing a belly gun when I walk the dogs out on the open space.

Wednesday I sat at a light for three changes, while a rutting buck chased a doe around the intersection, 100 yards from my house, can't go bang in the city limits .

Nice score on the coyote, Garth! We've got 'em running out of our ears here in AZ... :D

A girl needs a knife...

Good times! We need to see some shots of the deer, Jerry. It'd be cool to see a pic of that coyote once it's mounted, too.

Isn't the grass in KY supposed to be blue?

I'm surprised that rifle didn't do more damage. Garth must have just grazed him and his heart probably gave out! :foot:;)
