Oh, the prize part is simple. We wants to unload his crappy Gateway computer on some sucker! ;)

BTW...I own Gateway and they're #2 in my book! My comment above was only based on Bobby B's crappy service.

Nice to have you back Bobby. :) Now, if we could just get Chris in here more often... Good luck with the computer.

BTW what kind of Contest?

It's relatively new...loaded with XP....and they've replaced just about everything. Most recently being the motherboard. At one point, they were thinking it might have been the power supply. Rob is going to write something scathing in GB&U very soon about his experience. I'm sure he'll give you guys a link.

With how long this has been going on and how badly it's been screwing up, you'd think Gateway would have given him a new computer! [Not make him assemble it himself over two months after sending one part at a time!]

It looks like we're off-topic anyway, so...

I have a Gateway computer...I've had it since '98, and I still have the old MS IE '98 installed. If I had the money, I'd take this old dinosaur out, shoot it, and buy a Dell.

Gateway IS a good computer company, but Rob just had one of those FUBAR customer service interactions with them. Even the best of companies will have "spots" on their record.

I'd buy Gateway or Dell in a hearbeat (actually, I have a Gateway).

Get a Macintosh.

IBM clones are for people who have their own supoport staffs to debug them.

Gateway is currently trying to make it all right...
I'll keep you posted.;)
