Hello everybody,

I'm back from my 12 day foray into Grand Teton NP (and Yellowstone--one day trip up there:))

Good trip. saw lots of great scenery, lots of wildlife!

Lots of bears (all Black bears except one Grizzly in Yellowstone--lucklily from about 100yds away!).

Didn't even need to draw my Bura made Malla (or my pepper spray) which rode on my photo-backpack everywhere I went. Got some strange looks, but my-oh-my were people polite:D Believe it or not only 2 guys asked me what kind of knife it was the rest eyed it, then me, then didn't mention it.

I photographed Elk, Pronghorn Antelope, Coyotes, Black Bears, Bison and a few Bald Eagles--oh yeah and Moose! Not to mention lots of beautiful scenics of mountains, streams, fall aspens and willows etc...

I'll give a more detailed report later on---I'm still trying to settle in here at home and catch up on neglected office work etc..

Glad to be home with the family again:)

P.S. we've talked alot about Park Rangers here in the past. Here's my impression (keep in mind I met all of them while wearing a huge knife): polite, friendly, and WAYYY more helpful than they needed to be!!:) Both in Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Fine bunch of folks from my experience.

Pictures will be forthcoming as I get them processed and find time to scan a few...

to deduce that I was looking for you! See the "What ever happened to" post that I posted at the same time as this one.

Glad the bears didn't get ya. I doubt I'm alone in being a little envious of getting to spend some time out in such a beautiful place. I never feel closer to the Creator than when I'm out amongst creation

There's some distinction to be drawn between:

1) being in a state of blissful harmony with the creator,

and then there's the state of

2) immediate imminent introduction without warning, let alone having a chance to decide on what plea to enter. :D :D :D

It's good to hear that you had a good trip and, that no one give you a bad time about the khuk.:D

Rob, you must've used your mind powers...

my wife would argue that "my mind" and "power" should not be used in the same sentence;) That was weird though...

Are those rocks still there

Yup, and theys bigguns!! (see below)

Where's the pix?

They're comin...sheesh!;) :D

Thanks Sarge:) Yeah I feel the same way. Makes all the BS of society just melt away. The trick as a photographer is to avoid letting the camera distance you from the experience. I know some photojournalists rely on that very distance allowed by the camera to get them through photographing horrible things, but its exactly what us nature guys want to avoid!

There's some distinction to be drawn between:

:D:D:D most definitely!! That's the fine line I felt I was walking when I wanted to be quiet in Grizzly country to be at one with nature, while at the same time realizing that being quiet could bring me WAYYY to close to being in harmony with nature---ie, being chewed up, becoming bear DNA, then some of me being shat out to fertilize the plants:eek: :D

It's good to hear that you had a good trip and, that no one give you a bad time about the khuk.

Thanks Pappy:) Yep, I was glad they didn't hassle me too.
