I don't usually make "tactical" knives, but after seeing a design by Fred Perrin, I wanted to make a folder inspired by his La Griffe model.

Specs
4" (10 cm) stainless N678 steel blade, with a 2 1/2" (6.3 cm) edge. Blade thickness is 5/32" (4mm) Overall length is 9" (23 cm)
Blade with finger hole with extended thumb serrations for extra grip. Filed, drilled and lightly colored Titanium handles. Stainless steel locking liner and backpacer. Linerlock mechanism with a ball bearing system on the pivot.

This is one hefty folder, handle thickness is .6" (1.5 cm) and it weights almost 10.5 oz (300 grs)

As always, 100% hand made with the tools you see on my workshop.

Thanks for looking!

Ruben that is a great looking little folder, can you fit your finger in the hole comfortably? I like that one.

Oh I have had experience with the ball bearing system and love it on folders as its super smooth. Great addition

Thanks! It's a massive folder though :)

You can put your finger there, the hole diameter is 3/4" (2 cm) there are some pics on my website showing my fat fingers in there :D

Ruben, the balance looks off. So much knife, so little blade. I would like to see this knife again with the fingerhole modified, brought back towards the pivot. Much like what Terry Guinn does with his Ringfighter. I believe this will put the finger hole in a better position as well as give up all that room for blade. You are no doubt an artist and talented knifemaker but as a knife enthusiast there is no way I buying a 9" knife with 2.5" of blade. I hope this feedback helps.

Thank you gentlemen :)

I think we're talking about two completely different knives here, they're not similar in any way. Two different concepts, uses and applications.

This knife was made inspired on Fred Perrin's La Griffe, with a short blade, made for defense purposes in a particular style.

Mr. Perrin's version has a very short handle, and what I wanted to do, as I haven't seen it before, was to made a folder out of it.

Because of all of those, this type of blade has technical limitations on the handle design.

Regards,

Ruben
