Well, not fully
After The Blade Show which happened to be my best ever I accepted an invatation from a fellow knifemaker to come to Florida the following week to work on a liner lock design that Wally Hayes and I have been playing around with. It was supposed to be a 3 or 4 day visit. I made it down to Florida on time and got some computer time in designing the folder. I managed to get another day in messing around the shop and tweaking the design trying to see how I can make this thing more efficiently in numbers. I then felt the first symptoms coming on. Scratchy throat, fever. Well, here I am ten hours from home feeling crappy by the minute at 10:00 at night . I make the wise decision that maybe I should get on the road and try to get some miles in behind me before I got any worse. I made it to Jacksonville before fatigue and the bug really set in. I wobbled on down to Brunswick Georgia which is about 3 hours from home and figured that if I could get an hours rest I could make it all the way back home. I found a weigh station that was closed for the night, but had a few officers on duty, but they were all asleep in the weigh station so I figured that if I parked next to their patrol cars I would not be hassled by any undesirables. To make a long story short, I got an hours rest. made it back home safely and have been in bed since and it has been over a week and I am just starting to get over it. I am tired of sleeping, looking at TV and did not even want to go online until this week end. I am looking forward to getting back in the shop and making more knives.
