In-case some of you were wondering where I've been the past few days, we had a pretty rough storm here in costal Washington (100+ mph winds), and have been without power since Sunday night at 11:54pm. We just now got power back about 45 minutes ago (Wednesday, 12:30am). There was NO power ANYWHERE in the Grays Harbor County area since Sunday night.

As a side note, a couple minutes after the power went back on, my baseboard heater blew up...Smoke & all. So, now that we have power, we have no heat, 'till I can call the landlord in the morning, and he can have it replaced (which, with him, might be "awhile"). I guess I'm lucky that I smelled the smoke and shut-down the fuse before the damn thing caught on-fire and burned the place down..

Welcome back to the world dude. Looks like it's stove time for you to keep from getting
icesicles you know where. Take care while cleaning up. I am sure you have a mess after
the big blow.

Twas wondering where you were at.
I'm glad to see you made it through all that.

Now get back in here and moderate!

mike

Welcome back,.......and yeah,.....landlords can suck sometimes. (i was one a long time ago,......and the exception to the rule! :D)

If he takes too long to "get-er-done",.....like more than a day or two,.......just remind him you got a wide blade ZT that's just made for cutting someone a new A--hole!

Welcome back to the world of the "jacked in", Dann. I'm glad you're safe, and I hope that landlord gets on the heat problem quickly. Amazing, isn't it...they'll let you go without heat for a week, but be 5 days late with the rent check...

God Speed to you!

...More that a day or two????...Damn, I'll be LUCKY if I have heat before Christmas! My landlord is Korean...Mind you, I don't have anything against Koreans, but this guy is the landlord from hell.... Actually, he IS alittle bit afraid of me (he knows that I'm "into" knives, guns, martial arts, and that I'm a Vietnam Vet. who has no qualms with killing). However, he is still very slow at getting things done.

BTW...You wouldn't know just how NICE it is to be "back"! The time away from BladeForums, esp. the Kershaw forum, was PURE HELL!!.

On a positive note, I have a ZT 0200ST on the way from a trade (from that Mark G. guy in San Jose, CA), and with ANY luck, it'll be here today...

You could always work on target shooting in the living room. Shoot several guns in sequence, get the barrels nice and hot, that will warm up the room, and all that banging may give the landlord the hint.

Well, it seems that we're pretty "lucky", as there are still ALOT of folks without power here in Aberdeen. The bad, is that we had to dump out ALL of our food from the refridgerator & freezer, and I've missed 3 days work (without pay).:(.:(. I guess it could be worse, as we still have a roof, and it's not too cold in my place (so far).

This may not help in your state but in many states the landlord/tenant rights are your friend. In many states if a repair is not done in reasonable time (usually 48 to 72 hours) then the tenant can call in his own repair people and legally deduct the cost from his rent without repercussions. See if you can get a copy of your landlord/tenant rights in Washington. If it works in your favor hit the landlord with it. I have done this with positive results without having to resort to the cost and hassle of calling in someone myself.

That's exactly what we're going to do. My wife called our landlord, and he has said that that would be ok, so at-least that's a "plus", (aside from what it's going to cost us $ "up front").

Well, the place that I work at (Grays Harbor College, here in Aberdeen) is STILL without power, so as of today, that's 4 days of work that I've missed (without pay).:(.:(. Also, as far as I know, there are still trees down across the entrance to the college, so that's not good either.:(.

(Maybe I should go over there and cut up those downed trees with my ZT 0200 to get 'em out of the road...:D.).

Now that's an idea ^^^^ :D

Hope you get that heat going soon G-Man and you get back to work
my friend. A week without a pay check really puts a crunch on stuff.

hey dann, good to see your alright. now that you have a zt0200st you can see which is better cutting up them trees!:D

That was a bitch of a storm.. In Oregon they were saying it was the biggest since Columbus Day... Aberdeens a nice area, I haven't been up there for about 15 years though.. Hopefully they will get everything back in order so you will have heat and can get back to work. I heard tonight that they finally opened up part of I-5 but only to commercial vehicles..

who cares what happens to you-

Thanks...Me and the rest of the folks here in Grays Harbor County/Aberdeen really appreciate your un-caring attitude...That makes us all feel better through these hard times.

I caught the front end of it driving home To Vancouver BC from the sale last Saturday (yes Dann I got a Cyclone). Those of you who know how hideous traffic is on I-5 between Tacoma and Everett is when it's busy, add snow and holiday shoppers to that mix. Even using the express lanes, almost 2 1/2 hours just for that stretch alone. Glad to hear you have power again Dann.
I read rosconey's sig line and I hope he's just kidding.
