G'day fellas, happy new year to you all.
I have got the fever again and NEED a new knife. I have most of the Emerson productions and can't afford a custom. My last 5 purchases have been Emersons and I'm reasonably happy with them. The "less than perfect" lock-ups are my only gripe. I have fixed a couple of them though.
There are so many great knives on the market at the moment, I 'm having trouble deciding between a Gunting, LCC and a Sere 2000. I know they're not Emersons but I like the way the guys on this forum think.
Anyway what's your next purchase going to be?

Peter (Mad Max)

R.E.K.A.T Pocket Hobbit and a Hobbit Warrior. And the new Stealth Dieter CQD if M.O.D. ever starts shipping the damned things.

Hey Peter:

Welcome back! Did ya bless them all with some "Happy Tickets"?

Couple of customs are up on the block right now for sale! I ordered a Tactical LCC today, and a catalogue from Steve Ryan!

Eric, for what it's worth I'd be hesitant with REKAT stuff. I had a Pocket Hobbitt and a Carnivore. Both were very good for about 3 months and then developed ALOT of vertical play in the blade when locked. I asked the folks at REKAT for some replacement handle screws that were stripped and the replies were rude to say the least. They get very defensive when anyone has complaints with their stuff. Just my opinion.

G'day Sniper, yeah, I'm afraid there are a few unhappy motorists around. The good thing was that the road toll for Victoria was very low this holiday period, I wish I could say the same for the other states.
How do you guys afford all these customs? Have you won the lottery, do you go without food, or are you just very diligent at saving the Bikkies up?

Cheers

Peter

Hmmm,...thanks Peter. I'll certainly keep your advice in mind when evaluating the Hobbits.

You won't go wrong with any of the three. I personally would go with the SERE 2000. It fits my hand the best of the three and almost has an "Emerson Look".

why aren't more people happy?

Warren Thomas "Frequent Flyer" arrived Monday from http://knifeart.com and is it excellent! It is all Ti and very light with drilled holes in the handle and blade. Warren says, it was so much work that he doesn't know if he is going to make anymore with all those holes. Steve Ryan is making a batch of knives for the Japanese and because I want right hand grind on the two I ordered, he says that they should be ready in six weeks! I ordered a Model 1 and Model 7 Lt Wt. I can't wait. O fcourse there are other long term orders out there with 2 years or more wait time. But I have been doing this for 30 years and it doesn't bother me.
