It's just too damn good! I can't seem to stop myself from buying knives. So...I've decided not to allow myself to visit it until I get my customs paid off. I already bit right through my lip passing up on that nice giraffe-bone hunter that Ray listed, and the DA-Socom today for $135 almost tore my soul out (relax, it's gone). But I held firm.
Therefore, since I won't be visiting it for at least a month, if you have a nice custom drop point hunter you'd like to get rid of, PLEASE EMAIL ME!

Good luck, Paul. I DO know what you mean. I've been trying to put a few bucks aside for the NY Custom Show yet, in the past week, I snagged a Dozier Pro Guide & just missed out on an Arkansas Toothpick. I also ordered one of the first JKM-1's about two weeks ago from HI that's somewhere in the postal system.

My new SureFire D2 is arriving tomorrow from Botach but, since it's not a knife, it doesn't count.

Status Report: over an hour and haven't even looked in at the For Sale forum. I think I've proved my point, and I'm glad this whole sordid ordeal is over. Gotta run; there's an MT Kestral with my name on it!

Here is a custom drop point hunter, by Tom Mayo of Hawaii. Full flat ground Talonite (r), with full exposed tang. Black linen micarta scales.

The lower knife is the inspiration for the first, it is the Mad Dog Mako, also full flat ground, of 0-1 Steel, with composite grip. Presence or absence of flying saucer key is unknown, although I think that I x-rayed this one, and it didn't have the key.

Hope this helps you get over your addiction.

Pure evil, Walt. Pure evil.
I'd already checked it out over in the Customs forum. Very nicely done.

There is a general rule on the forums. If you see a knife you like on two separate forums, you should buy it!!

So it was YOU, Ray!

LOL, when I saw the asking price I couldn't resist. I already have one but thought it would make good trading fodder.

Now, if you beat me to the piece I'm waiting to hear about...

BTW, any chance of you making the NY show?

Hey B,

I was planning on going to the NYC show, but one of the people I really wanted to meet isn't able to go so I'll have to wait until the Spring to go.
frown.gif
Thats not to say I wouldn't have a good time down there since there are lots of folks in the New England area. I'm trying to maximize the amount of folks I can hook up with at once.
biggrin.gif
The down side is the NYC area is wicked $$. May be the Blade Show is a better target.
wink.gif
I would be broke in debt forever after that...LOL.

You will have to show me some good places to get some decent food!

Since I got the Perrin, I guess I can talk to you again, Ray.

I was also disappointed to learn that some makers wouldn't be making the show but I'll get over it. BTW, Arno Bernard is scheduled to be there. You know that will be one of my stops.

Let me know when you'll be down & I'll set you up with something.

Good Luck avoiding the For Sale forum, I just checked it for the 8th time today.

Although I did get a sweet trade on a BM 350S for my extra LaGriffe...

Sad....so young and so many more knives out there!!!
Say it's not so!

But I feel your pain, I always take a quick scan down the name list and see what guys are moving now a days, interesting to see the very same knife travel from hand to hand....Stay Strong!!
