Hi all,
pre holiday doldrums I guess..I need something to cheer me up..and nothing cheers me up like a new knife..I need suggestions what to buy..but here is the problem..

I have every benchmade ever made in the last 10 years
same goes for spyderco
Emerson
MOD
CRKT
Buck
Gerber
AL MAR
Black Jack
Hubertus (SP?)
Cuda
REKAT (rip)
and many customs...Atchinson, vicelli, carson, etc.

I have a few Reeve.. love them but cannot spend that kind of coin now

any suggestions? I like folders and neck knives .. I love hawkbills..

any help would be appreciated..

Ren

Al Mar Shrike, I got mine about a week ago and it is very nice.

And although it's more of a modified wharncliffe than a hawkbill, you couldn't go wrong with a Microtech Kestrel:)

got all the mircrotechs...Ludt, kestrel, Socom, etc.. sorry for got to mention them

AL Mar Shrike...held one, and played around with it.. too boring for the money INMHO the blade design isnt original enough..although good suggestion currently one I do not have..

Winston Knives has a few fixed blades in the Custom Exchange and the price can't be beat. VERY AFFORDABLE I would suggest you take a look. :D

Hi ya Ren. Sounds like you need to pick up a nice multiblade or slipjoint :).

So you buy one of any of those knives on your list? Is that going to unbore you for more than five minutes? Of course not. You need something new, something exciting, something challenging. Something that will keep your attention for more than five minutes. You need a balisong!

I'd suggest a Benchmade Model 43 for you!

How about a SOG Desert Dagger or Seal 2000? For a bit more money, you can buy a SOG Trident...Which is really quite a nice knife.:). Then there is the SOG TiNi PowerLock...(If you don't yet own a good multi-tool.).

...Sorry, but I've been on a "SOG" kick lately.:D.

Ladies and gentlemen may I present SOGman99 :D

Ren, how about a nice Rinaldi? http://www.thrblades.com/
Very sweet.:)

Trace's knives are awesome. I think the cf he uses came from F18 wings(?) and it looks a bit different (more 'skewed'). The new crk Green Beret is really kickass..I handled one today for the first time and I was totally zoned. s30v and green canvas, ooo00000ooooohh.

At the mall shop here (expensive) it was only 300. I would've bumped it to the top of my list of wants except that I can't carry fixed blades over 3 inches and I'm really into folders.

Also, Striders are nice.

Lol, I just realized you probably already know everything I just said :P :O

Regards,
Steve

Sage advice, Gus. A nice slip-joint is always a good change. You can kind of get lost in what it took to make them. Appreciate them for the craftsmanship rather than how efficiently you could stick a bad guy with one. Hey....I'm an Emerson collector, and little turns like this work for me. I could send ya a little bullet knife to mess with if you want. Still have your address.

Edited to agree with my fellow Oregonian that Balisongs can be really fun. Check that. Downright addicting. ;)

Havnt seen you in the Balisong forum, so id assume that you DONT have every Benchmade!

Get your self one.:)

Sounds like you need to pick up a SAK. Maybe something in the Pioneer series or the new one-hander.

Paul

I also say a Benchmade model 43 balisong. They are alot of fun and very chalenging. You will have plenty of fun learning new openings and closings. Balisongs are my personal favorites, by far!:)
