So I've decided my next knife purchase will be an Ontario Air Force survival knife. I've looked around a bit and on Amazon there's a sales listing by a company called Rothco, (I've purchased from them before. It was a riot shield. It turned out to be a fine purchase) called a Rothco GI Pilot's survival knife. It looks exactly like it, BUT in the reviews a few people claim that it's an actual Ontario knife, so which is it? Is it just a replica? Or is it an actual OKC being sold under another name? The reviews are about 90% positive, and like I said a few people claimed it's actually an OKC knife. I shouldn't forget to mention that it's 40$ which is about what I've found the OKC for in a number of other places.

Here's the link to the page itself: spam

Hi Plasmio, that Amazon listing is still running and I have exactly the same question as to whether the Rothco is a genuine Ontario or a replica. The photo and reviews certainly look like authentic Ontario. I wonder if the reviewers bought Ontario, then posted their reviews to the Rothco listing by mistake...

I see you did not get any publicly posted replies. Did you get any PM's from forum members who would know?

Might be being made for Rothco (US military gear supplier) by Ontario.

I don't know if the OP, Plasmio, asked the seller. I emailed Rothco and have not received a reply.

Rothco always presents themselves as a longtime military supplier and that what they are selling is authentic mil-spec. The USAF Survival knife listing on Amazon is confusing because the photo looks like Ontario mil-spec, and the reviewers talk about receiving an authentic Ontario. So is the Rothco selling a replica, or a real Ontario?

Anyone here on the forum buy one of these from Rothco?

Looks like you can get the real deal, Ontario stamped knife for a few bucks more...
