I'm considering the blacked-out Police...

It’s a great looking blade and I don’t have a stainless scaled Police yet! I recently had a chance to get one for $180ish shipped (takes 30 days to receive) but balked. Price is gone now😒 I’ll probably get one eventually

If it was all dlc black I'd maybe consider it at a map sale price. For just ticn coating and vg10 I can't see it happening I don't really like ticn at all.

I have a small Gen 1-4 collection of Police models but I have no interest in the current all black version of it.

As you probably know, this is not the 1st time that Spyderco made an all black Police model.

They were made before in the 90's with black Gin 1/2 & ATS-55 blades & Ti scales. I'd prefer a pair of those in PE &/or SE but the prices are too high &/or the quality of their condition too low from what I've seen for me to want to add them to my collection. 🤷‍♂️

If you like it get it, you're most definitely going to end up liking it even more than you expect. Just be careful because the SS version is kinda slippery. The Police is my favorite bigger Spyderco together with the Military, contending with it for top 2 overall.
I missed the K390 G10 sprint and lived on to regret it. I would have loved a 15V sprint. The currently available options are a bit underwhelming for me.
Crossing my fingers for a sprint run in G10 soon.

Looks to be FFG. I believe that’s a first for the SS Police.

You are correct on both counts. I hadn't noticed, but when I read the description on the Spyderco site it stated full flat, and that is a first for the stainless model

Too rich for my blood, sadly. Otherwise I'd love one as one of the original iconic Spyderco designs.

Wish they'd made it DLC at least but anyway...

Just bought a Gen 2 Police ATS-55 SE G10 & a Gen 3 Police VG10 SE G10 to round out my collection of Police black G10's.

Delivery pending. Will post pics of the G10 collection elsewhere when they arrive.

I've always loved these origin Spyderco designs.... and the Police is truly one of the greats with that unique Spyderco flavour so I wish this one was more affordable. Hopefully there'll be another sale before Xmas.

Some dealer last map sale mentioned there would be one more this year

It has always been made in Seki, Japan. They don't do DLC there. And as far as I'm concerned, the original iconic design does not have a full flat grind, but saber grind with a swedge tip. This ain't that.
Wasn't aware the Japanese couldn't do DLC, interesting! I'm happy to take FFG, after all it improved the Endura considerably.

I can always get a plain jane SS Police and I think its probably high time I did so.
