I'm curious what Buck knife this sheath was made for

I bought it at a garage sale last week because it looked like it might fit my '501' - and it was cheap. It's about 5 inches tall snapped shut. So this week I've been carrying the 501 in the sheath and it fits okay. So looking at the sheath and markings on back, can you tell what knife it was made for?
Thanks!

Tecate is correct. Sold as an accessory or they would come with a non standard Buck 500 such as with a stag or pearl handled knife.

You can do an internet search using "Buck 500-234" and see a couple examples.

I see a 500 in this picture that has custom stag handles. Per this source the sheath is marked 500-234 CUSTOM.

I own a Buck sheath that fits to two different Buck knifes and has two numbers on it similar to your sheath. So I would say your sheath fits to two different knifes: the 500 Duke and the 234 Whateverthat is. But I couldn’t find a Buck folder with the number 234, only the dagger 234 glint. The Dagger is somewhat too large for your sheath. May be Buck did the product number recycling forAnother knife as they did some times before. But I don’t know the Buck folder 234. What do I know? Did Buck plans to produce a 234 and stopped it after producing the two number Sheath?
