I'm done whining and complaining about my Benchmade Warn Barrage.
A little background -
When I started hunting for a quality one-hand-opener last year, the one that felt best in my hand was the Barrage.
Then, I did a bit more research, and decided I wanted G-10 scales, and some better steel.
I came across the 583SBK-1 at a very reasonable price. Though I wasn't sure about the tanto tip or the black coating, I thought I'd try them out.
I couldn't find a good use for the tanto, and the black scratched slightly on a (very tough) plastic clamshell package.
I tried to send it back, sell it, or trade it - to no avail. I've used it quite successfully to cut paracord for my lanyards, but mostly it's just sat in my toolbox, awaiting a good use.
This morning, I had some carpet to tear up. My wife was having no luck with our utility/carpet/razor knife, so I pulled out the BM Tanto. Made quick work of it! 2 slices, and we're through the carpet AND pad, all the way down to the subfloor. Amazing.
So, now I am going to keep it, happily.
Does anyone else have one of these? Have you been successful putting it to work?
Thanks for listening.
