I traded off my Mini Cyclone ZDP, and SG2 several months ago towards a small Sebenza. I haven't carried a Kershaw since. Friday I finally recieved the much anticipated RAM, and I have been nothing but pleased with it. Yesterday I recieved a Mini Cyclone ZDP, that I got in trade from a forum member. It was definitely a fix-me-upper, and I was aware of it's condition prior to the trade. The scales and clip had been unevenly painted black, the thumbstud and on off switch were removed and the blade was slightly marred up a bit.
As soon as the postman dropped it off I went to work on it. Stripping the paint off, degreasing, replacing the thumbstud and basically just putting it back to stock condition. I was very definitely happy with my efforts.

I really like my new RAM, but since I finished the Cyclone, the Cyclone is the one thats been in my pocket. I don't know what it is, but I must say of all the knives I've had my mitts on, the Cyclone is my favorite:thumbup:. Now I just need to locate a new back spacer and on/off switch, and some replacement screws and this knife will be just like new:D So if anyone has some clean spare parts laying around let me know, I'll take them off your hands;)

DaveReb, if you call the Warranty Dept. (800-325-2891), they should be able to send you the parts you need.

That sure is a nice looking "fixer-upper" Cyclone TiZDP! Must've been a really nice Forum member to let that go.

Seriously, I wouldn't of recognized it, if you hadn't told me, very nice.
 
thats funny because the mini cyclone zdp and the ram have been my edc pair since they both arrived, the zdp back in november and the ram a week or so ago. perfect combo of absolute versatility and style :). BTW if you are a forum member and are looking to sell a ZDP in nearly any condition I want a second as a backup. or thomas if you feel like sending me the parts a la carte i'd be happy to pay individually and just put the thing together. hehe

I got all the parts for you both to put one together...except for the ZDP blade and Ti scales. So just let me know.

I know of a shop here in Las Vegas that has them but I dont remember the price. They also still have a few tizdp leeks, those were $150. I could give you the name and number if you would like, maybe you could pay over the phone and have them ship it to you.
 
I was originally going to do a trade a week or two ago but backed out because of the condition it was in. I did some researck and the ZDP's are next to impossible to find new, and just as hard to find on the used market. I ended up contacting the trader, CL01 you know who you are:D, and he still wanted to trade...soooo the rest is history. It cleaned up easier than I could have hoped for, and my pocket is very happy:D

As for the RAM, there is nothing bad to say about it. It has everything I could hope for in a folder, and as a bonus you have a flipper with the Hawk lock! I have knives from other maufacturers, with close to the same ergo's , at twice the price tag, that I really don't see putting in my pocket anytime soon, now that I have the RAM and Cyclone ZDP. I could live with just these two folders in my collection. I would love to see a RAM jr though. Give it the same handle length and lock, but put a 2.5" blade with a choil in it. That would cover me in the municipalities that have 2.5" blade length reg's on the books, that I travel through and work in.
